This review is for the hotel food only. We booked for a stand up comedy evening inclusive dinner and the food was horrible despite the good service. The nachos starter was simply emptying a cheap nachos bag from a supermarket topped with tasteless cheese, the steak with vegetables was barely edible and the mango Asian salad was surprisingly good. Overall recommended to attend a stand up comedy without meals.
Staying in Portemilio hotel is one of the worst thing you can ever do, after addressing these issues several times we decided to write this review and list down our whole experience in bullet point to make it easy on you. ⁃ if you rent a car (as a guest staying in the hotel and not as a visitor to someone in the hotel) you will have to pay for the parking as its not included. this shouldnt be the case in a so called 5 star hotel (this was addressed to the front desk guy and he said that the parking is a different company than the hotel, still it doesnt justify) ⁃ The first night, we were given a room located directly next to the chiller and we couldnt sleep from the sound (like a generator sound) then after complaining, Mr. Fadi the front desk manager was professional and kind enough to give us another room ⁃ The wifi is terrible. what kind of 5 star hotel does not have a proper wifi? We couldnt even check our emails, i suggest to the hotel management to mention that wifi is not available (to that extent it is bad. We addressed this issue every single day and the front desk guy finally said that the problem is from our phone not connecting properly, (iphone X) ) ⁃ the room we stayed in the first night ddnt have a water kettle, what kind of 5 star hotel does not provide that? ⁃ the worst of all was beside the whole stay that the room service guy when he came to clean and fix the room (2nd room we moved to) instead of replacing the used coffee cups, he washed them in the bathroom. who does that Infront of the clients? We booked in Portemilio because its a well known fancy resort but frankly speaking we wouldnt do it again even if it was for free. It is very much overpriced for a 5 star hotel wannabe. It is not even reaching the 3rd star ! P.S: Mr. Fadi the front desk manager is a very professional, proactive personnel, but, what more can he do when the top management of the hotel itself does not care about improving the guest experience and the overall business…
Our names are Ziad Eid and Lucy Chahoud. We live in Sweden but got married in Lebanon on July 19. We had about 80 guests arriving from Sweden and were looking for a hotel to recommend for them. After meeting Mr. Shady Hayek our decision of choosing Portemilio was taken. His professional approach and his will to help our guests meet their needs is priceless. He has been doing ”the little extra” in order for us to feel safe and comfortable which is really important when you come from abroad. We met up with many hotels before but the service, effort and care Mr. Shady gave us was undescribable. Most of the guests have never been to Lebanon and Mr. Shady has really made sure that their first experience arriving to the hotel has been great. We have not had any complaint from anyone and everything from the bookings to the rooms and the check-in has been of high standard. All the suppliers of our wedding have one thing in common - they are all the owners of their business. Even though Mr. Shady is not the owner of Portemilio he acts like it his own with the care that he gives and staff like that are hard to find nowadays - we have seen very good examples of that. We want to thank Mr. Shady and all the staff at Portemilio from the bottom of our hearts and we will be more than happy to recommend you in the future! Thank you! Best regards, Ziad Eid & Lucy Chahoud…
We went for 2 night stay with my friend, The staff were very friendly and receptive, But the cost seemed very high and not worth calling a 5 star hotel, wifi was very weak and the service was not of that quality as well, I would say it worth 40$/person/day. The location is a bit out of town and needs 20 mins walking to reach the nearby town of jounieh,
Stayed for a few nights on business in a executive suite, which was very roomy could probably do with a little maintenance. Breakfast choice wasn't massive, so would have struggled if I had been here longer, staff at breakfast were quite attentive with tea and coffee. Only had one evening meal at the hotel, which was fine, but not outstanding which is why I said I wouldn't call it 5 star, but it wasn't an unpleasant experience.
It was the third time I stay in this hotel in 5 years, I will share the points why I like it and what could be better, noting that we were 3 people in a suite Why I like it: Location is awesome. Breakfast is delicious especially the fresh baked Mana'eesh. Staff are great and friendly. Pool area is beautiful. What could be better: 1. Extra bed is very small and not fit for an adult, also not comfy at all 2. We stayed for 1 week and sometimes we had to call room service for the daily water and coffee which should be default 3. Also sometimes we had to call for room make up and clean towels which also should be done by default and by noon not at 4pm 4. We had to repeat calling room service many times as they did not take orders properly or they forget 5. It would be better if the hair dryer is changed as it is very very old …
Spent 1 week in a family suite. It was wonderful. The kids have enjoyed it a lot. Many activities, big pools, excellent food and service. Many thank for the hotel staff, very professional, friendly and helpful. we had a very nice stay. I recommed this beautiful place Fred & anita
I stayed for 1 night, staff very friendly, delicious food.I highly recommend this hotel.Very nice resort for family with a big pool Clean rooms and fast service. Good welcoming from the receptionists.
A very disappointing suit with a big list of disappointments Bad receptionist cooperation with border control Rooms don’t match online description Outdated rooms. Advertised as kitchenette with no kitchen cutlery or pots Rude room service personnel Filthy hardscaoe and landscape Front desk with no authorities to make a a decision. To make the guest happy and comfortable Rooms smell damp and musty along with the furniture Inconvenient parking process Pool is very far from the hotel with a hassle to get pool towels Sea view in first floor with tall weeds Most room saves don’t work No electric adaptors for foreign visitors Old bathrooms Small rooms with two beds while senior suites have only one bed. The list goes on and on! THE INLY UPSIDE IS THE POOL IS CLEAN AND OLYMPIC.
We stayed at portemilio for 3 nights, Rooms are big but really old! No valet parking service and parking is so inconvenient. Basic service, staff are ok but the communication and poor! It’s definitely not a 5 stars hotel!
