What better way to experience the Kenya coast than a stay in the esteemed, nay - the legendary Driftwood Club – since 1963 the default destination for adventurers, party animals, retirees, ex-pats, vacationers from up-country, game fishermen, sun-worshippers, story-tellers and generally nice people. No seriously…Roger Sylvester, the constantly effervescent owner runs the good ship Driftwood with a philosophy and style... More

A lovely cottage hotel, with comfortable rooms. Nice private outdoor seating at every room, and super mosquito nets enveloping the beds. the common areas were comfortable and stylish and the food was good. Definitely a place to return to.

Fantastic time. Although did not like the chocolate moose and would take if off the menu rather than cause disappointment. I would have preferred it if I could have been offered a few chocolates with my coffee for dessert...

Post-card perfect location on a coral reef protected lagoon off the Indian Ocean, at a walking distance from the Malindi market, Vasco de Gama's Monument and Chapel, and the Marine Reserve Park, this is an ideal spot to spend a safe, relaxing and entertaining vacation. During our month here we were impressed with the quality of management and the friendly... More

Comfortable banda with hot water shower and a great view of the reefs and the Indian Ocean through the palm trees The bar and restaurant offered quick service and a very interesting menu with a very attractive pool to relax in when too hot.

Spent one night here recently on a work trip to Malindi. The little bungalow was small but everything was clean, shower water was hot, towels were & linens were all new and the AC worked well. Shampoo, conditioner and body wash were all provided. The food was really tasty, we had the calamari and the feta/coriander samosas for dinner by... More

The view, gorgeous! Food, fantastic... staff friendly and I walked away with a canvas piece, thanks to the lovely Holly at the gift shop. The hotel is lovely and very coastal. I spent 3 days there and my girls loved it. Their Chicken Kiev is to die for...

I've stayed at Driftwoods twice since coming to Kenya and it's quickly becoming one of my favorite places for resting, lazing and restoring my energy. Roger is a great host, making us feel welcome and at home. The staff is very friendly, polite and respectful of the guests routines from early morning walks to mid-day naps to late-night walkabouts. The... More

As an "old" resident of Kenya, my favorite coastal haunt for a break from Nairobi was always the Driftwood Club. Having been away for a number of years, what a pleasure it was to spend a couple of happy days in Malindi and to find that Roger Sylvester and his crew have kept up the standards and that the Driftwood... Along with a climate made for lazing, an area that boasts pretty good food and Malindi herself affording the offshore visitor a genuine insight into Kenya and her people comes this little gem. We currently live in Kenya and travel extensively for both my husband's business and our mutual pleasure. With the downturn in tourism properties that were once of... More
