This was our second trip to Amboseli and we wanted to get away from the bigger camps and booked at Elephant Gorge Camp. It is outside Amboseli and although only about 30 kms from the airstrip it is about 90 minutes drive but the drive can be part of the experience. It is situated on a rocky outcrop and is most beautiful. Only 8 "tents" and some of the best accommodation I have been in whilst on safari. The staff is excellent and the food great. Full view of Kilimanjaro from our tent as well as from the mess area. We will definitely return.
We had the most amazing view of Kilimanjaro from our lodge. What a find Elephant Gorge is!! We were looked after like Royalty with nothing being too much trouble. Christopher our chef tried so hard to make sure I had something lovely to eat, as I don’t much care for meat and made different meals for each of us. All staff looked after us so very well and our lodge was very modern and comfortable. It is so very peaceful and you feel the stresses of life just melt away.
We stayed 2 nights at this lodge and it was an amazing experience. The food is delicious, the staff makes you feel at home and safe, with a 5 stars services. Our room (with view on the Kilimanjaro) was also wonderful Thank you to the team to organize a wonderful diner outside. You made something incredible.
We've been to some pretty amazing lodges over the years and Elephant Gorge Camp in Amboseli, Kenya, is one of those that I'll remember and hope to return to, The rooms are luxurious, the chef is very good and the staff are not just professional, but truly friendly and helpful. Nestling at the foot of Kilimanjaro we had a very good time. It takes some time to travel from the airstrip to the camp, but all in all, it was well worth the visit!
What a shock after journeying to Amboseli - who knew it was be this outstanding. Elephant Gorge Camp is simply breathtaking in every way. You are treated to luxury in the rooms, delicious food by the Chef, attentive service from Jackson the camp manager, to all of the staff. You can view animals coming to the watering hole, catch a breathtaking view of Mt. Kilimanjaro in the morning, and head out on a Bush Walk. At night, sit by the roaring fire and listen to the lions talking to each other. I have already told so many people about this little piece of heaven (the secret is out)...Layna, from Calgary.
