The Amboseli Sopa Lodge is a place well worth visiting as it has fantastic surroundings and you can take excellent pictures of Mount Kilimanjaro. We went during Christmas holidays and the festive season was an absolute dream... We were very impressed with the food which was much better than the Sopa Lodge in Naivasha, the service was equally good, the... More

The lodge is dated. We did like the fact that it is dated! The staff had forgotten to mention that the lodge has a history .....the owner bought the land simply because Hemingways had built a home there in the shape of africa and they currently use it as a bar! very nice to see...but the staff forogt to mention... With tourism down in Kenya... you can see the hey days the lodge had.. a few of the trappings starting to look a tad bit tired. It's also 17 Kilometres away from the main park gate...or 25 minutes drive by murram road. The lodge has a beautiful layout... amazing sized rooms and best of all the hospitality of the staff... I have to admit being cautious about the Sopa, their website pictures needs updating, but it really has to be for me the best place I visited last year. And what did it for my party was the service--just blew us away. Every one of the staff were friendly and went out of the way to make us comfortable, and... More

We spent 3 nights at the Amboseli Sopa and what a wonderful time we had. We were booked for 2 but added an extra night. We enjoyed the uniqueness and feel of the lodge that gave you a feel of you are living in the bush. Clean rooms, awesome food, kids totally entertained by Sammy the Taaaallll Maasai 3 in... More

From Tanzania we return to Kenya crossing the border at Namanga. We are met by our Kenyan drive/guide David and we change vehicles again. 50km further we are at the gate Meshanani, where as usual women sell the beadwork which I like so much. As the competition is very strong, the women wear most of their products and as a... More

Very warmband friendly staff. The duty manager had fresh juice specially made for me on request. I had friends from norway and were impressed. One simple concern with the room toilet was addressed immediately with quick response on action taken. One guest had a send off cake with song. I would definately go back. The kili view is excellent.

One of the Sopa Lodge Chain of lodges that are spread across East Africa. Excellent food, professional staff and very nice cottages made from local materials. The lodge has a business center too for those who might be keen on using internet. It has great view facing the mighty Mount Kilimanjaro. It also has a very nice view point bar for... More
