Would never recommend this place! Very rude manager, poor service and disgusting breakfasts. We stayed at "executive suite" with my husband, the bath-tube that is seen on a photo is made of plastic, the room was very smelly like someone was smoking just before we checked in. On the day of check out the reception guy told us that the bath towel was dirty and we have to pay a 30$ fine blaming that i was wiping my shoes with it, which I definitely did not commit. The dirt on a towel was from the bathroom floor. Also be ready to be filmed by the local police while having a dinner at the restaurant in that hotel, which is surprisingly a usual procedure on weekends.

The room was great. It had a balcony and an amazing bath. I was actually doing a photo shoot there and it was perfectly picturesque. The staff were decent but it was sometime a case of 'computer says no' instead of using a bit of common sense.

Room was good and reception staff were ok. Got annoyed reception wanted 30,000 KZT up front for mini bar when I was only staying a few hours for sleep before early morning flight. The Manana restaurant was not good, they run out of items on the menu and the waitress was rude.

I liked cosy room with a balcony. Reception was very nice. Hotel is close to Shymbulak ski resort. Hotel bath amenities need an upgrade. Room service menu is great and dishes are provided by Manana restaurant. Parking is free of charge and was not crouded.

Staff here were exceptional, as was the hotel. A true boutique hotel living up to the reputation of the SLH group of hotels. The decor for the rooms, restaurant and lounge areas is excellent, and the staff all speak very good English -- and are super-friendly!!. Highly recommended.

I had an exceptional dinner at Donatello Italian restaurant at Boutique Hotel in Almaty. The food and service were so good, I had to write and share my experience, I hope more travellers visit this place. Hidden in a busy part of the city, on the way up to stunningly beautiful mountains, a place of peace and tranquillity, remarkably it opens 24 hours for customers. Donatello restaurant and the boutique hotel welcome you with beautiful décor, non-intruding service and really exceptionally fresh and delicious dishes. I had the best mozzarella in my life! (I can assure you that I travel a lot and can compare). The choice and quality of food was simply exceptional, I really can't fault it. I want to thank the staff for working so hard to make my experience perfect! next time I come to Almaty I will definitely stay there…

Pert...quiet, small and quite pretty. The staff is friendly and accommodating. The rooms are ample, light and nicely appointed as are the baths. Nice restaurant with good bar. Not for you if you want a lively night scene...this is definitely laid back.

We spent 2,5 nights there and the very first nice experience was that we were actually charged for this 2,5 nights period (we pre-agreed it before via e-mail). From the very beginning to the end staff was very nice and helpful. Rooms are very new, well furnished and luxury (hotel was only opened in late 2011). Only disadvantage was a little bit not enough light in the bathroom. I found it quite challenging to shave myself there. Additional nice elements in the room - bottle of decent Sauvignon Franc as a welcome wine and a pair of free Durex in the drawer. Breakfast was served to the table or room (till 11.00). I like rather buffet style, but it was fine too. Last not least - the place is very calm and offers great sleeping conditions. I added photo with the view from our exact room - I think also one of the advantages of the place.…

After a few days in a sub-standard hotel in Astana I traveled to Almaty and stayed at Donatello Boutique Hotel. It was a fantastic change. For Kazakhstan, Donatello's is definitely at the top end of quality. The room was lovely, bathroom was great. The only two recommendations... the heat can't be controlled and the room was a bit too hot and there is no one to help you with your luggage when you check in. Other than that it was a great stay.

Almaty is a great city to visit, bounded by mountains it’s the ultimate holiday destination. Not that long ago me and my husband stopped in small, fashionable and truly amazing hotel that we both fall in love with. Domatello Hotel became our favourite place to stay because of its location, amenity, and consistency of service, fantastic food and value for money. Therefore we were very impressed by the superb service from all staff members we met. Highly recomend this hotel to anyone visiting Almaty. Mr and Mrs Woods, Perth, Australia.
