I stayed here when I was on a group tour with G Adventures, so I do not really know how much this hotel cost if you book it as independent travelers. I think G Adventures chose this place maybe mainly for its central and very convenient location and its very old-world, Soviet style ambience. I think this hotel may be...

While the building is pure Russian, the hotel is comfortable, convenient and ideally located to get about the city very easily. Being opposite the park meant green leafy outlook towards the mountains from the front rooms. Back not so pleasant. Rooms are spacious, even if air conditioning quite noisy. Ours even had a balcony. The Central Market was 'just around...

This is an older hotel in a great location across from the Orthodox Cathedral and close to the Green Market. It has easy access to the Metro, and good eating locations are quite close. Rooms are older, but comfortable. Lots of hot water, but a little low on the soap. The dining room is designed as a yurt, and the...

This hotel rated 4 star is a throwback to old days. The rooms are small and overloaded with old fashioned heavy furniture making access to beds and luggage a nightmare. TV and aircon ancient . Staff at reception pleasant but with limited English. However the beds are clean and comfortable and towels of good quality, and breakfast is adaquate. We...

Probably a grand hotel in it's day, but showing it's age now. Nevertheless, the hotel is in a great location, is well priced and the room was comfortable. The staff was great. I had no problems and would happily stay there again. There was no work desk in the room, so a bit inconvenient for computer usage.

Large, gloomy hotel from the socialist era. Rooms very small with dark wood and red carpet. Old TV set, empty fridge, no bottled water, old and noisy aircon. Very small bathroom, small bathtub with hand shower, all bare and simple. Small wardrobe with 1 (one) hanger... Large dining room for breakfast and dinner. Mediocre buffet at most. Small bar which...

Very centrally located with lots attractions nearby. The rooms are a bit dated but very clean. Check-in desk staff are very helpful. We arrived late at night and had a late-leaving flight the next day. They were able to give us a reasonable price for extending our stay beyond the normal checkout time. We were happy to be able to...

Entering in the lobby, you can tell that the hotel is getting old and slightly run down. The rooms were ok but the beds where extremely soft clearly due to extensive use. The staff were on the more agressive side which was quite unpleasant. The restaurant is in a very cool decorated room and the food is ok but overall...

Very friendly and helpfull staff. We got free champagne in the room on new years eve. Good facilities, including travel agency (which we didn't use). Nice, classic room and good beds. Breakfast in impressing 'ballroom', food a bit bland, but nonetheless ok.

“+” – good location, almost in a downtown. There is a huge park (28 Panfilovtschev) opposite of hotel. Variety of restaurant and cafes around. 10 mins walk to a main walking street “Arbat”. Almaty Zoo and “Zelyoniy bazar” market is close. “-“ – unhelpful and rude staff (including their manager). Old rooms with ancient air conditioners that don’t allow sleeping...
