We stayed for 3 nights in a double room. The room was clean, the bed comfortable. The bathroom was small but a large deep bath. We had a view of the canal. The hotel is a easy walk to the castle park which was very busy for cherry blossom time. The hotel has a cake shop and a Family Mart,... More

I had 3 wonderful days in the hotel without any hassle. This hotel has a great location with a a bakery available at ground floor. It helps that there is also a family mart which opens till late. The room is clean and spacious ( considering it is in Japan). This place is also walking distance of 10-15 minutes to the... More

I stayed in the Akita Castle Hotel for 3 nights and very much enjoyed my stay. My room was comfortable, quiet, and as with every hotel I have stayed in Japan, the place was exceptionally clean. The staff was very friendly and most spoke enough English be help guide me to shopping and eating destinations. It is much easier to... More

Stayed for business trip. Very conveniently located albeit about 10 mins walk from JR. Station. Room is clean and space considered ok for Japan standard. There is a bar fridge in room for use, good for items purchased from the Lawson convenience store located just at hotel compound. Across the road is a larger family mart convenience store. Wifi signal... More

Trouble free stay, staff are very friendly. Although some of the staff have difficulty in speaking English, they will find a excellent speaking staff to help you. The hotel is relatively cheap considering paying only $70USD per night. The rooms are clean and relatively small which is common to Japan. There is not much amenities. Breakfast at Castle House is... Ranking in the class of business hotels this hotel provides excellent service at a very reasonable price. Despite the lack of English skills, all off the employees where very friendly and polite. The hotel was recommended to me because the "Emperor usually stays here". Akita is a very countryside city and without doubt this hotel can be classified as one... More

Stayed here for work. It was great location as there several restaurants and pubs within walking distance. The castle on the hill is closely located and worked out awesome for some post work jogs. Rooms were decent size for asian standards, very clean, and very quiet.

We stayed at the Akita Castle Hotel for about a week in December. The hotel is located right on the main street from Akita JR Station. I would say it's probably a good ~10 minute walk from the station. Not the most convenient if you have heavy bags but if you take a cab it's only a few minutes away.... More

Akita is a fairly quiet regional centre on the isolated Japan Sea coast, and there's not a whole lot of interest in the city itself, but the Akita Castle Hotel is a very good choice. The reception area is much more elegant than you would expect from a regional business hotel, and the rooms are fairly spacious and very well-maintained.... More
