Japanese-style modern guesthouse inside Uotana shopping arcade that continues since 1661 You can enjoy this small guesthouse born inside the cozy and nostalgic “Uo-no-tana shopping arcade(魚の棚商店街)” which has its history from the Edo era. A small Kamaboko (boiled fish paste) store with a 3m frontage, built 50 years ago, was remodeled to give space to a fusion of Japanese and modern. You can also share information and enjoy the conversation with our guests, of which many are also foreigners, some others on their Shikoku pilgrimage and some traveling around Japan or even around the world. Located city centre, only 200meters from famous tourism spot "Harimaya-bashi", and only 3minute from bus station.

I stayed with Harimayabashi Guesthouse for 3 nights, it was a good experience. The place is just like somebody's home with kitchen and common room. There are two small bathing/ shower room and two toilets. The beds are in capsule style and it is suprisingly comfortable. Staff Wally is very friendly, we talk we share we play. Thank you Wally for your welcome. He tried very best to talk to me, and I know speaking English is not easy for him. I had a very good stay here and a great place to explore Kochi city. PS. Please fix your official website!

This is a guesthouse in the literal sense, the design makes you feel like you are a guest in somebody's house. The shower rooms and restrooms are right next to the main lobby space with kitchen and fridges, which I am not a fan of. The atmosphere is really friendly though if you are not too tired. With that aside, the staffs are amazing, and the place is very foreigner friendly with English explanations everywhere. The location cannot be more convenient also. Book early as the capacity is very limited. It is cozy but please avoid third floor, it was terrible experience compared to what I expected from the website. The experience of this place will probably depend higher on the other guests staying compared to your average guesthouse.

I had a great time there! Everything is nice and clean and Japanese style. Bunk beds are but like a capcle hotel but nicer. People are friendly open minded love eating and drinking. I think is a great place you can go to meet new people. The day I visited was the day Sinjo was hosting the guest house for one day. Nice funny interesting guy! Great job Sinjo!
