When I first booked this hotel, I was a bit worried, as it seems like it is a bit far away from Kochi station. But soon, as I walked along, and as soon as I reached the hotel and was given a local town map, I realised that the location is very good. It is near to Hirome market, a walking distance to Kochi castle and also, if you happen to be here during Sunday, the Sunday morning market is just a few steps away from their main entrance. Breakfast, though simple, was very delicious, especially their rice cake, super super delicious, wifi was good and room was clean. Though the front desk was not able to communicate with good ENglish, nevertheless, they tried their best to assist and with Google translate, language becomes easier. I would like to specially highlight the front desk in charge person on the first nite I checked in, Mr. Shinmichi Yokogawa, who had been giving me some assistance as I left something at Takamatsu hotel and he has made a few calls to help with the arrangement. Appreciate his help and positive and always ready to help attitude. Thanks, Yokogawa-San. Wifi is working effectively in the room. One more highlight, they provide a free drink in the evening to room guest, beer, tea...…
This is good for group people! Because you can go to anywhere easily and even good for business people, too! Welcome drinks are good and you can enjoy with your friends at the restaurant You can relax and visit some places very easily!
This hotel is located in the centre of town. Parking is 700 yen and is a short and easy walk away. Check in was easy. The gentleman who checked us in had good English and was able to give us some suggestions for places to eat. We each got a free welcome drink (beer) which was a nice surprise. We walked to the castle and to the shopping street easily. We had a twin room which had lots of space for a Japanese hotel. Breakfast was OK.
Location makes it easy to walk to places like Hirome, right where the Sunday market is as well. Close to the main street, with convenience stores nearby too. Good selection for breakfast, and rooms are functional.
We paid less than $70 a night including welcome drink(you can order most of the drink from the menu including beer) and full buffet breakfast. Front desk staff are full of passion and efficiency, able to communicate in English. 3 minute walk to the famous Hirome Market (a must visit for all visitors), while the Sunday market (over 300 years, one of the biggest in Japan)just in front of the hotel。 Room was reasonable size with everything we needed, free wifi, stayed 2 nights and will surely stay with Welcome hotel if we come back to Kochi. Thank you for the great job of their staff.
Stayed there for a couple of nights. It is centrally located, easy to find. It is close to the shopping street, the castle and Hirome market, and at a walking distance from the station. The staff was very helpful. The welcome drink was greatly appreciated given the hot and humid weather ! ;) Breakfast is simple, mostly Japanese but also a (small) range of Western food.
Convenient, near shopping n food areas and karaoke place. Also walking to kochi castle. Free breakfast. Welcome drinks include beer. Staff helpful. Speaks basic English only. Room has twin n single together but no double bed. Nice weather in October
An economy-sized hotel with very little extra space in the room, but about what you'd expect from a Japanese hotel with that price range. Relatively close to everything my group had planned, and no complaints about breakfast. The "air conditioner" dial near the bed automatically switches to "heater" in winter, so if it's too warm don't turn it on.
This is quite a decent little hotel centrally-located in Kochi City, perfectly convenient for access to the castle, Haramaya (sp?) Bashi and the covered shopping arcade. Lots of good pubs, restaurants, coffee shops (they open at 7.30 mostly) are just a step away. In the winter, the little garden is lit up with lights making for a beautiful night scene. You get a complimentary welcome drink each night of your stay and the rooms are clean and comfortable. The bed is generously sized and comfy. The hotel sits on the street corner, affording views from at least two sides of the building, if you're high enough up.
It's hard to complain about a well-located hotel with these prices including breakfast and a free welcome drink each day. You won't be confusing this with the Ritz: aside from the aforementioned perks, it's just your average business hotel with the usual smallish bathroom and decent, but not outstanding amenities. But the perks and the price make it pretty irresistible.
