If you have ever stayed in a Dormy Inn, you would know what to expect and that’s part of the charm really. It’s always with a lovely little Onsen (split by Male and Female), it offers a fantastic Ramen in the evening, and it’s almost always well located in the city. I generally always try to make a stay in a Dormy on my visits to Japan, just to enjoy the lovely Onsen at night. To be fair, rooms are on the smallish side and comfortably rather than luxuriously appointed, but for the price and perks, it’s a fantastic bargain.

Pros: - free hotspring - free soba noodles and drink at night - great location right at the shotengai (shopping street) of kochi, many shops and restaurants - close to many local attractions such as hirome market and kochi castle - receptionist speaks good English and helpful Cons: - room is super small and crowded, we booked the standard queen room for 2 people and we feel very tight quite uncomfortable - no new/one time slippers provided, I don't feel comfortable wearing slippers someone had worn before - the mugs provided with tea is dirty and smells like mold

Very centrally located for sights, close to lots of restaurants, Sunday market, hirome market and parking facilities. Onsen in hotel is typically on the small side. Room was clean but a bit small. Tiny shower and bathroom. The bed and especially the pillow was rather uncomfortable. Family mart and shopping street next to hotel. Would we recommend it? Pros for us outweighed the cons so yes.

The pros- great location, easy walk to great restaurants and all the sites, room was a decent size, staff were friendly and there is a Family Mart right off the lobby. The cons- the bed and "pillows". I say "pillows" because they were just pillow cases filled with a melted plastic (see pics). The bed was the hardest I've ever slept on. I've stayed at multiple Dormy Inn's (including one later in the same trip in Takamatsu) and never had anything like it. If they could fix the bed & pillows this would be a great spot.

Stayed in different Dormy Inns in Japan and Dormy Inn Kochi is just as good as others. The car park is 1-2 mins from the hotel. The hotel is located near the main walking street, 5 mins walk to the main market with lots of local food and 10 mins walk to Kochi Castle. Free ramen at night and also the big hot bath are always a plus.

This is a cookie cutter style western hotel in the centre of Kochi. Surrounded by lots of shops and places to eat with a handy convenience store under the same roof. The rooms are fairly small and crowded (typical Japanese) but its clean and orderly. breakfast was buffet style with Japanese and (limited) Western options

Dormy Inn is a good brand that located among all different cities in Japan. In Kochi, this one is newly open in Dec 2017. I like to choose Dormy Inn with the famous hot spring and free Ramen. The room I stay is 22m with a Queen bed. The breakfast is rich in items. Good hotel, good staff and I enjoy the stay in Kochi. I recommend this Hotel if you visit Kochi.
