Lovely smiling staff with a useful amount of english. Room size was ok ( for Japan) Wifi was strong but flaky. We picked up a rental car after the first night and had our first expereince of a parking stacker. Very efficient. The location was good, we arrived by train and caught the tram to the hotel, all very manageable. Used laundry ok but not enough machines for the guests wanting to use them.
I’m here for the Yosakoi Festival and stayed in this hotel for one night. Room is clean. It’s not huge, but I seriously just slept here so it was enough space for me. The staff at the counter was super nice when I checked in. There are toiletries near the check in counter that you can grab before heading to your room. A convenience store is attached to the hotel on the first floor, and there are many restaurants nearby. There’s a hot water pot in the room so I was able to make coffee in the room (I bought instant coffee at the convenience store), but the hotel does have free coffee in the lobby. I just wanted to be lazy in the morning. They do have green tea bags in the room. There is also a cell phone in the room for their guests to use during their stay at this hotel. I will definitely stay here again! …
Attended a convention at Kochi Japan and was booked by a travel agency for my 5 days stay at Nishitetsu Inn. Looked at the previous reviews and was told that it was clean and the location was ideal for a tourist. Pros: Staff was courteous. Location was good. Plenty of nearby restaurants. Cons: I was given a smoking room and I am allergic to smoke. The odor was so strong it is as if I am the one smoking. (Must be the central ventilation). I requested if I can be transferred on a later time or date but to no avail. Was told it was fully booked even if I can see guests leaving (checking out) on the succeeding dates. A day or two does matter. Room was small around 3.5x5m (includes the bathroom) with a very small window. Not ideal if you are a bit claustrophobic. Was given a meal ticket for breakfast. On the last day, I noticed that I lacked 1 stub. Told the front desk of my concern and was initially being asked to pay. They eventually gave one after saying that I will just write something about it.…
Placed in the restaurant district close to the Sunday market and Kochi Castle Having said that the hotel is impersonal with little contact with staff - you pick up your room toiletries in the foyer - nothing in the rooms Rooms are clean and functional but small the shower in a high bath is a problem
The hotel is located in the center of Kochi city. From the hotel, Kochi castle and Kochi castle history museum, shopping streets, Ryoma's birth place, good local restaurants are all walking distance. You can take trams to go to the castle if you are tired of walking, the tram stop is just 30 sec away from the hotel. If you want to go to Katsurahama and Ryoma museum, you will need to take a bus. The bus station to Katsurahama is also 30 sec walk. Even though the hotel is located in the center of the city, you don't hear noise in the night. Ah, yes you are not in Manhattan NY, so the city is not busy in the night. After 9PM, there are few cars outside. The room is small, just like NY hotels, you don't have space to open your suite case on the floor, but i could manage it. Breakfast area is also small and it gets crowded if you want to take it at 6:30, but they don't stay long, so you will find a seat if you wait 5-10 minutes, while you are taking food from buffet area. I think there is an option not to include breakfast in your plan. There are not so many breakfast alternatives around the hotel, but you can just buy bread and coffee at the convenience store in the first floor. The best thing in this hotel is that they offer FREE smartphone during your stay. Yes, it is free of charge. You can even call international. you can take the smartphone outside and look up maps, search interesting points, and restaurants. it is just 10 minutes Kochi station, if you have a big suite case, you might want to take a cab or a tram, but if you have only carry-on bags, it is easy flat walk from the station. This hotel is better than the hotels in front of Kochi station. very conveniently located.…
