I went to this hotel because close to the castle and the center of the city. Good location for my pleasure touristic trip. Service people are very kind and helpful. Room was very clean and comfortable even not too big, But I understood that this is a standard in Japan. Breakfast in the morning is also for western people.

Just across the O-kaido station (street car) and O-kaido shopping broad way where many shops & restaurants are. Department store and bus stop to the air port is also across the street. (A 30min ride by airport limousine bus) Close to the Matsuyama Castle, and Saka no ue no kumo Museum is just behind the hotel The room I stayed... More

During my last trip to Japan, I stayed at three midrange chain hotels: Tokyu REI, Daiwa Roynet, and Sunroute. I found this Tokyu REI to be the best of those. It was very clean and quiet. The location is good. The parking is convenient and reasonably priced (1,000 yen). The staff spoke as much English as was necessary. The hotel... More

The staff here (and in most of Matsuyama) don’t speak great English. We arrived around 1pm and were told to come back at 3pm for check-in, but they did hold our bags for us. A staff member came out from some other room because he spoke a little English and tried his best to help answer some questions. Other than... More

Very clean hotel, fairly large, definitely not a boutique hotel. But the rooms are small like most hotels in Japan unless you pay for a premium room. Nice 40" flat screen tv but no English speaking channels, twin beds with a firm mattress, not real soft or hard. One pillow. Room has small fridge. Plenty of water pressure from the... More

Disclaimer: the only reason I give it 3 stars is a horrific Wi-Fi reception in rooms even though they advertise it. Otherwise it's a 5-star hotel in the moderately priced category. The funny thing they had 5-6 networks, all starting with the same prefix and ending with different numbers. We called the front desk three times. They gave us a... More

Stayed at this hotel second trip to Japan (had to come back to Shikoku after spending a day on the island last time). The hotel is on the doorstep of the local tram system (tram number 5, you can catch it near the JR train station, just go under the underpass and take the right hand side exit inside it).... More

We stayed here for 4 nights in November. I must agree with the previous English reviewer that the beds are comfortable. We arrived by car and parked outside in a small cut in ahead of the hotel whilst I went inside to find out where the car park was. The receptionist came out, assessed the size of the car and... We stayed in this hotel for 3 nights during a recent holiday in Shikoku. The beds are large, especially for Japanese standards, and have extremely comfortable mattresses. You will definitely sleep well here. The staff were very friendly and helpful, too. It's conveniently situated in the centre of town with easy access to about everywhere you might want to go.... Matsuyama was the 4th city we visited during our journey through Japan. It is a charming little city that was a refreshing change from the hustle-bustle of Tokyo, Kyoto and Osaka. We arrived at Matsuyama station. There's a little underpass if you follow the path from the exit to the station past the bus terminals. Go down the pass and... More
