Lovely stay in this nice place; many of the rooms are Japanese style but we had a western one. The welcome is lovely and you are shown up to your room. Our dinner was included and was exquisite - served in private rooms, it was fantastic. Only downside was room looked a bit dated and no English-speaking TV.

Traditional style hotel, tatami mats on the floor of the main room with nothing but a coffee table and 2 chairs(you have to sit with your legs crossed), there's a hostess and she'll introduce you to your room, aske you when you'd like dinner in your room and what time you'd like breakfast. She will bring in the meals and...

Wonderful hotel, excellent in every respect. Located very close to the Dogo Onsen, central shopping area, and glass museum, the Dougokan is among a number of beautiful resort hotels that serve primarily a Japanese clientele. The public areas of the hotel are artistically designed, modern, spacious, and tranquil. Our room was very clean and comfortable, and service was outstanding (including...

The location is slight off the Main Street of Dogo so you don't get the buzzing of tourists but so close that it's only 5 mins walk away to the main streets. The room is very spacious and very friendly and helpful staff indeed. The only slight miss is that food is so so if you choose the half boarding....

I enjoyed my short stay here immensely. You get checked into your room and nothing is too much trouble. I needed a mid afternoon nap before speaking in the evening - they made up the bed on the floor, help with making some tea etc and asked about a wake up call as well. The hot spring/spa downstairs is well...

The Dogokan Matsuyama is an upmarket Ryokan. We stayed in a traditional japanese family room, which was spacious and well appointed, with a western style living room and the traditional tatami room. Travelling with a 7 month old the hotel provided a crib/baby seat and a stroller. Our 'housekeeper' was fantastic and couldn't have been more helpful. The traditional dinner...

This hotel has individual room spas on the upper two floors in small gardens off the simplistically appointed tatami matted room. The rooms are spacious. The service is extremely attentive. We had a private kaiseki dinner in a closely private room. Even breakfast while in a large space each area is segmented by bamboo walls and curtains. Presentation of the...

Matsuyama has one of oldest / historical Japanese hot springs. Hotel is walking distance from it. It also has a fantastic onsen on site. Breakfast is Japanese style in a Japanese style restaurant -- where each group of people has "own-pseudo-room". Then you can have a very good coffee looking at a Japanese style mini-garden. Rooms are small -- which...

Just stayed at #708 & #709 for out multi generation family trip. #708 has large outside tub AND indoor full bath with sitting area, more than enough space for family of 4. #709 was larger garden and cascade outside tub which has water cascade feature but tub was slightly smaller. #708 & #709 was away from other rooms next to...
