I stayed here for 6 nights as part of a work trip to Japan. I absolutely loved the Ana Crowne Plaza Kumamoto New Sky. I had been in Tokyo and stayed in the Hyatt Regency in Shinjuku and did not think I would get another room as big in Japan but room 2188 was enormous and with a beautiful view over the river. Fabulous bathroom, again big by Japanese standards. The staff were exceptional in all parts of the hotel from the doormen to the receptionists to the room service servers to the lovely ladies in the hotel shop. The room service was excellent and not too pricey by Japanese standards. I loved the friend chicken! The location is a little out of the centre and I spent one night in the much more centrally located Hotel Nikko but I much preferred the Ana Crowne Plaza. Out of six hotels I stayed in over seven weeks on this extended work trip in Japan, this was my favourite. …
The parking is a bit overpriced and you must make a reservation for dinner so you don’t get shut out but this is a gorgeous hotel with a wonderful staff. Don’t miss the awesome heated masks they put in your room too!
Stayed in this hotel for a couple of nights with my wife and two young boys. The property is a distance from the main shopping area, but we chose it because it was close to the train station, which facilitated our plans for trips out of Kumamoto. The rooms are in accordance with many across Japan, clean and comfortable, though not extremely spacious. What stood out for us though was the great service during our entire stay. The staff we encountered were very polite and helpful, and went out of their way to make it a memorable experience for us, especially helping to search for and deliver my tripod back to my room when I thought I had misplaced it earlier in the day. Special thanks to Robin and team for making our stay feel really special.
The suite rooms are excellent. We found a good value for the very large room which was very comfortable and we could enjoy many hours in the suite relaxing, taking a meal and watching the large TV. The location is also very convenient with parking and also close to the stop #4 on teh A-tram line. The staff was helpful when we had requests for housekeeping and suggestions for sightseeing. Very glad we stayed here.
We stayed 2 nights in December 2019 in one of the Suite rooms. The suite rooms are the size of 3 regular rooms. It had a large living room area with a very large sectional couch, big screen TV, and a table with 4 chairs. The bedroom had 2 double beds and a very spacious bathroom. The views were wonderful. The breakfast buffet had ample choices, including a freshly made omelet station. The restaurant for lunch and dinner is an interesting mix of Chinese / Italian. I had the butter pasta for lunch, which was fine. There were enough choices in the lunch buffet that you did not go hungry. I would stay here again when back in Kuramoto. It was only 2 minute walk to the "A" tram station. And it was easy to get to the tourist areas from the A or B trams. The tram is a flat 170 yen per ride, and you can use your ICOCA card, just remember to scan the card when you enter the tram AND when you exit the tram. Or pay cash when exit the tram.…
