A/B-Line Karashimacho (no. 8) would be the closest tram stop, just 3 minutes walk. Katsuretsutei Shinshigai Honten 勝烈亭 (katsu restaurant) is right around the corner however it was closed for renovation when I was there 3 weeks back. If you plan to buy Japanese beauty products you'll be glad to know that there's two drugstores near the hotel (fyi I... More

We stayed at the standard double room and the room was a bit small. We cannot move around much with our suit cases opened on the floor. The hotel offered skin care products to female guest and the bathroom is clean. The room is modern and all basic amenities are covered in the room. We drove during our visit to... More

This is a business hotel, good for one night. Rooms and especially bathrooms are tiny, but clean. Service is a bit unpersonal, there are even check-out machines allowing business travelers to check out in the early hours of the day without human interaction. The hotel is located in a mall-type area with quite a few places to eat nearby. There... More

Very close to shops, easy walk to the castle district. This was a really good hotel (as were all the Richmonds that we tried) with decent sized rooms, friendly staff, good breakfast etc. Great roof-top views from the upper rooms.

Stayed here for almost 2 weeks while on a group karate training session, good accommodation, with very helpful staff, modern and basic amenities covered in each room. Very close to shops in Shimotori. I upgraded to the corner room, and from what I've heard it was a good decision, single rooms not big enough for 2 week period.

Highly recommend. It is right on the shopping arcade, lots of restaurants, cute shops, nightlife, convenience stores, and everything you would need nearby. Also easy to get to the tram, and walking distance to Kumamoto castle. The staff went above and beyond with every inquiry, and the in-hotel restaurant was a great value and selection. Room was really nice, no... More

Excellent location. The room is bigger than other business hotel with very good services. Highly recommend! The hotel provides all necessary equipment, a lot of sockets for electricity charging and the breakfast is delicious with good value.
