the 2 main sights in Kumamoto (castle and Suizenji Park) and Kumamoto station are all pretty good distance apart, so no location would really be convenient. However, this hotel is within walking distance from the castle, and even closer to the castle tram stop (8 or 9 stops from the JR station). Room is tiny even for business hotel standards...it was difficult for the 2 of us just to move around in the room. But room was clean, had fast wi-fi, and a decent simple breakfast spread. Other than lack of space, not a bad place to spend one night in Kumamoto.
