We booked two twin rooms for New Year's Eve. I had reserved through booking.com and paid 10,000 yen per room with breakfast included. I had asked a few questions when making the reservation but didn't get any response. I had asked for non-smoking room but they gave us smoking rooms. It reeked of cigarettes. Near the elevators, they had room sprays and hand sanitizers. I had sprayed it but didn't make any difference. They provided air purifier and humidifiers in each room. Hairdryers and washed slippers (not new) if you need to use are there too. Rooms and bathrooms quite small for two adults. Not much space to keep luggage. Only one outlet so if you need to plug in anything extra like your phone charger, you need an extra plug. Breakfast is quite basic, cereal, milk, yogurt, coffee, onigiri, miso soup, steamed veggies, salad. Breakfast is from 6:30 - 9 am but last order is 8:50 so if you come late, they already start cleaning up and you get nothing to eat. One thing that was quite irksome was that the person who stayed in the room set the alarm for 6:15 am and didn't bother to turn it off so it rang and woke us up. Complained to the front desk about this. Parking available for 700 yen per day. Free wifi.…
Best hotel for money saver!! Japanese style breakfast is a plus! Also, this room is very close to Wakayama-shi station. They have rental bicycle service only for 100yen (~$1) per day, super cheap!!!!!
Though it is called Hotel, it is Business Inn like. For those who would like to explore the Wakayama area in a budget way, this should be the one. My 4 nights stay in a semi double room was considered as a long stay type and the best offer from Agoda was USD$166 including breakfast. The air-conditioned room has TV, LAN, kettle jug, humidifier, air freshener, hair dryer and a large fridge. Beside the bathroom ones, hotel lobby carries more brands of shampoo and conditioner. Take Nankai Train from KIX airport and change at the second stop called Izumisano, still on Nankai line but towards Wakayamashi or Wakayamako direction. Remember to take Express train which requires 30 mins to finish 4 stops from Izumisano. Train fare from KIX is ¥870. Hotel is situated at a quiet neighborhood and basically not much to do at night but rest. The nearest convenience store is 7-11 right opposite the train station. At hotel 8/F, there is a microwave for guest use and for those who needs a PC, hotel lobby does provide one with printer. The breakfast is a decent Japanese type for everyone to enjoy.…
Near Nankai Wakayama-shi Station, within 5mins walk. Room facility with humidifier and a little massage machine, quite Considered. Little bit hard to open the window. Staff are friendly, helpful but may not good at English. Delicious, Simple Japanese-style breakfast!
I booked this hotel online, but it appears to only have a Japanese site. I'm not sure if it shows up on However, it's quite easy to navigate even if you don't know any Japanese. The hotel was only a 5 minute walk from Wakayama-shi Station. However, the train from Wakayama-shi to Wakayama Station only came every 30/60min depending on the day. I'm not sure if summer has the same schedule. Wakayama-shi station has a small department store inside, a few restaurants scattered across the floors, and a few across from the station. The price was incredibly cheap for us. We didn't pay until we got there and it was only 24,000yen for 4 nights for two people. The service was quick, friendly, and efficient, though they couldn't speak English well. There's a computer in the lobby that's absolutely ancient, but works well enough and is free. Printing costs 10yen. There are a few pamphlets and maps for sight-seeing/restaurants for the area. Everything seemed to close around 6pm though while we were there. There is a free Japanese-style breakfast on the top floor, consisting of onigiri, side dishes (eggs, preserved veggies, egg salad, miso etc), with coffee and tea. The room was small, but to be expected of a business hotel. It was quiet enough, even though we were across from the elevator and next to the linens room. The bathroom was a little cramped than I remember of business hotels. The sink was halfway over the bathtub. Otherwise, it was comfortable and the cleaning ladies were also very friendly and efficient. My only gripe would have to be the bed, which felt a little lopsided, and the windows, which would sometimes make tapping noises in the wind.…
