Had some trouble getting to the hotel from the airport because we got on the wrong train. Make sure to take the Haruka train from Kansai Airport because it’s very easy to get on the wrong train. The staff was super friendly when we arrived which was great because I was not in a great mood after a long day of traveling. The room was a suite which was a surprise because I was just expecting 1 room with a private open air bath but it was a living room, bedroom, kitchenette, dressing area, indoor shower , separate toilet and balcony with open air bath with the most amazing view of Lake Biwa. There was also a ton of closets! This suite could actually sleep a large family. The only complaint I would have is the hotel could’ve had a more English available all around. But luckily there was always at least 1 staff member that could understand English available. They were very eager to help us find dining and shopping in the area and always made sure we we’re able to get around easily without getting us lost! Thanks so much for a great experience Kyo Oumi! Everything exceeded my expectations!

Definitely worth the short train journey from Kyoto to stay in this superbly located hotel. Complimentary pick up from train station, wonderful reception at check in & fantastic views across the lake from a large, comfortable & very well equipped room. Room was even supplied with a humidifier to alleviate dryness from air conditioning! Great & reasonably priced buffet breakfast & Italian dishes (especially desserts) available in the cafe. A relaxing & highly recommended hotel for the Kyoto area.
