Spent one night at the Nara Hotel. Booked the room well in advance. When checking in we were offer an upgrade which we accepted. The room was very spacious and quiet at the East end of the hotel. Well worth the extra charge. The front desk personnel were very nice and accommodating.

This early twentieth century hotel frequently hosts royalty and celebrities, and the high prices reflect this, but it is worth it for a treat. The rooms, even the cheaper ones, are comfortable, and have little balconies. The whole hotel has a lovely scent of (cedar ?)wood, from which all the old part of the hotel is built. As you would...

We stayed three nights at the Nara Hotel. The hotel is a bit isolated, but Nara is a small city, and the hotel is walking distance from all of the main temples and tourist attractions. We did not mind the distance, as it also made for some amazing views from the hotel bar. The exterior of the hotel is beautiful,...

A beautiful and chic hotel just 5 minutes walk from Nara Park. A quaint building with both occidental and japanese style rooms inside. Just pay attention, some of the rooms only have a minor view of the garden, the description on the Hotel website may be a bit misleading.

The hotel itself is a historical site perched on the small hill between the city and Nara park. The building is admirable with the wood porch, the wood reception desk and the luxury stairs in the lobby that leads to the second floor. The café has very good afternoon tea menu and a nice view of the pagoda in Kōfuku-ji...

We stayed in one of their tatami rooms and loved it. The hotel is atmospheric and historical, sure it might benefit from a little modernization in parts but how to do that without destroying the special ambience? Staff are super friendly as well. We did not eat in the hotel restaurant though to save costs. The one thing that was...

If you're staying in Nara overnight, totally splurge and stay here. While it's technically a luxury hotel it still has a shabby charm that reminds me of the Awahnee lodge in Yosemite. Make sure you're in the old wing of the hotel to get maximum old world Japanese style. Make sure you have a drink in the bar, too –...

Fortunately we had booked a room in the new wing where the rooms are much larger than the main building. However if you are in need of power points for your various electronic gadgets then you are out of luck! Otherwise we encountered no issues with our room and the aircon functioned well. The rooms as well as bar prices...

The hotel has an elegant charm about it, but the room was on the small side and it was a bit cluttered (also I would have liked a safe). The staff we attentive and there was certainly enough of them, and the hotel location is excellent, right next to the park and major attractions. I was only in Nara for...

We stayed at Nara hotel for 2 nights in 2 different rooms in September: one room was in the «new» building, the other was in the main building. Although we were reasonably satisfied with the room in the new building with its larger size, patio door and minimal bathroom, we were very dissatisfied with the older room. The room itself...
