An historic hotel built in 1909, with a storied past. A bit musty and needing a freshening up. A sharp contrast to the other historic hotel we stayed in at the beginning of our trip, The Imperial Hotel in Tokyo. It is possible to retain the history while polishing the edges and renovating. We are staying 3 nights in the...

The breakfast was outstanding. It's served on the cleanest dishes and cutlery I have ever experienced (it's immediately noticeable) in a beautiful, high-ceiling, grand-hotel-style dining room with views of the outdoors and a distant pagoda by a well-trained staff. The architecture of the hotel is 1908 Arts-and-Crafts movement and they have wisely kept it untouched. Our room was in this...

My husband and I stayed for one night in a hollywood twin room. This hotel has a lot of authentic charm and history to it, little things such as preserving the piano that Einstein played are a nice touch. It is also in a good location (around 10-15 min walk from the famous Todai-ji temple, walking through the deer park),...

We stayed for one night and really enjoyed our stay. The staff is very customer oriented and did everything to make our stay enjoyable. The bell service and folks at the information desk were very helpful and offered terrific service. This is a historic hotel with former guests such as Robert Kennedy, Albert Einstein, Charles Lindbergh and many other celebrities,...

This is a great hotel to stay in except it is a very old hotel and therefore has very regimented , yet friendly staff. We stayed with 2 children and our package included full breakfasts yet on the first day at end of breakfast they said only 2 adults were included so we had to pay extra for the 2...

Our stay was everything you would expect and want along with a great price. The staff took care of everything and made sure we were comfortable and well informed. Travel arrangements were taken care of as well as recommendations for great places to eat. Would definitely stay again!!

We really enjoyed our time at the Nara Hotel, where a stay feels like a step back in time to the days of Albert Einstein or Charlie Chaplin (both visited the hotel). Definitely don't come here expecting a state-of-the-art hotel - it isn't. However, if you're looking for an authentic, old-school Nara experience, this is the place - recommend having...

We had a great experience in this well located hotel that definitely benefits from its biggest weakness i.e. the lack of investment!! We indeed loved the ageing rooms, corridors and amenities that create a very charming atmosphere on top of the old dated furniture/decoration... Breakfast was as well great with nice settings and service! We definitely recommend it provided you...

We stayed here as a couple, before kids, and had a great stay! We were very comfortable, the breakfast was really good and people were so friendly. We were walking distance to the deer park, and all other attractions we wanted to see!

Thank you very much for choosing Nara Hotel. We are really glad to hear that you have enjoyed your stay with us. Our hotel stand in a part of Nara park and very close to famous temples such as Kofukuji temple. We hope that you will have another chance to visit our hotel, and thank you again for your comments....

Absolutely a wonderful hotel - probably the oldest and best hotel in town. I say this because the Emperor of Japan as visited it and the founding father of Philippines republic and Albert Einstein stayed here. The rooms are spacious, staff are super courteous and helpful; and the price is reasonable for what you get. I have stayed both in...
