I have stayed at this hotel few times now. The hotel is located few minutes walk from the station 🚉 the rooms are reasonable size. The bathroom is good size with shower and bath 🛁. All the necessary toiletries are provided. There is washing clothes facility with the hotel and costs about 500 yen to wash dry. Overall excellent but only complaint is that I found that room for was not vacuumed cleaned. Everything is cleaned good except the carpet on regular basis. Cleaning should be improved. The staff at desk speak little English. The breakfast is reasonable , eggs are cold and western variety is lacking.
Stayed for over a week and the room was spacious, clean and comfortable. Hotel staff are friendly. Location is onky a few minutes walk from Utsunomiya Station. Check in was smooth and amenities are well stocked.
Rooms are designed and offer functionality to the standard that you could expect from a hotel in this price category - not more, not less. Therefore no complaints but also no cheers. Location in walking distance from the main station in Utsunomiya is convenient.
Stay 1 night as the rate was unbeatable at 12,600y for a double room (estimating 14-16sqm). Though room was small but it was a very new hotel located across the other Richmond. Great Location, ample parking @ 1000y per night and efficient check-in. Affordable, clean, new and western accommodation if visiting Nikko (short drive away on toll road 410y rate). Town center has shops and restaurants for the evening after the shrine visits. Lobby was located on 2nd floor and there was a Korean BBQ restaurant, a sushi restaurant, MacDonald, noodle shop around the corner for early breakfast 6.30am. Did not opt for breakfast as there are many other food outlets near the JR station. Hotel was very quiet and had a peaceful sleep. For those into road cycling - there is a Japan Cup road race during the week of Oct 20 weekend, 2017. You can plan to cycle into Nikko (challenging climb but many cyclists along the romantic route and nice views.) Will stay here again.…
Literally a few minutes' walk from Utsunomiya Station, Richmond Hotel is a great base to access nearby attractions. It is also in an area full of dining options, including the city's famous gyoza. The staff are friendly and helpful. The rooms are comfortably sized, spotlessly clean, and quite good value. The higher the floor, the better the view. I stayed here for two nights and would definitely stay here again.
