Good location, near to Tonosawa bus station - If you were using train, is 5 mins walk from the Tonosawa train station but need to climb the hill... Excellent staff services: the meals will be serve in your room by the friendly staff who can speak English... Having a private onsen room as well as general onsen hall shared with...

Service is excellent and the food is good and it could not be more beautifully situated by the river but the place could benefit from some restoring to make it worth the cost. If you are historically interested and want to come close to living in a museum then this is the pick for you. Everything is authentic and original...

We stayed for one night at the ryokan fukuzumiro. Initially I was nervous about the separate bathrooms but it was fine. The onset was very relaxing. We had a river view and the view fall leaves were a very beautiful and we could hear the river from our room (picture below). Dinner and breakfast were a unique and wonderful experience...

Hakone is packed with large hotels but Fukuzumiro is one of the small traditional Japanese ryokans. If you want a genuine Japanese inn experience complete with hot spring baths, rooms with tatami mats, multi-course Japanese dinner and (Japanese or western) breakfast served in the comfort of your room then you should try this place. We chose it because it was...

We booked a room same week for a birthday celebration in early November 2016. The staff was very friendly from the moment we arrived. They took our bags & placed it in our room. We stayed in Sakura #2 - spacious & gorgeous view of the river. We did not have a private restroom or bath but glad we didn't...

Highly recommend their dinner and Japanese breakfast - it was very authentic and delicious. The private onsen was great to relax after a busy day of travelling. Highly recommend this ryokan, it...

Myself and my family came to stay for a traditional Japanese experience. We were not disappointed. It was such fun. The hosts were friendly and gracious and we were equipped with Yukata to relax in and visit the Onsen. The Onsen is beautiful with really hot hot spring water, and well equipped facilities such as hairdryers , toothbrushes and slippers....

Fukuzumiro is near the local train station. It' about a 20 minute walk over the river and up the hillside. Not easy to find and not a lot of signage. However, once you get there you will see that it's isolated location is going to be private and secluded in the evenings. The owner spoke some English but not fluently....

This is a great Ryokan. From the moment you enter you feel welcome! We loved the personal attention from our hostes. she spoke good english and explained us everything perfect, how to use the onsen, how to wear the kimono, what food they prepared. The way she served the food and how she placed everything at the table was perfect,...
