Not impressed at all. Ive stayed at well over 100 hot springs in Japan alone.
They have a public free rental bath-nice but when its cold the shower is outside and only stays on a couple seconds. Makes getting clean difficult and uncomfortable.

There's a little train that goes up to the mountain. It runs during the day every 10 mins. Be aware that it doesn't run late in the evening so then you have to walk to a restaurant (or eat in the Ryokan)
