Beautiful hotel in the Hakone area. The Onsen experience is second to none. The public bath was spacious and for those wanting privacy they allow 2 private onsen areas. The morning and evening meals were delicious and adequate. We did not feel hungry after the meals. We took the bus from the train station and the bus stop was right...

Our initial plan was to take the 8 minutes walk from Kowakidani Station to reach the hotel on our check in day. However, upon reaching Kowakidani Station, we found that there were no pedestrian paths on either sides of the winding roads. With a medium sized luggage and a 4 year old kid, we were quite stuck. We were lucky...

We spent 3 days in hakone. Weather was perfect and tons of walking which we wanted. At the end of each day, that being 4 (night came early as it's winter) ... we were glad we got the suite at manatee. Having your own private onsen in the room was worth it. Only thing, the temperature of the onsen was...

Shared room with two adult daughter's. Pros: Very comfortable beds. Private onsen was wonderful. It overlooked the hillside and I felt one with nature without actually being in nature. The entire hotel was very clean. Delicious, artfully served Japanese meals. Cons: The western style breakfast was totally inedible. Good, slimy scrambled eggs, tiny hotdogs, stale croissant and dinner rolls, the...

Together with my 2 young children, we stayed over the weekend in a suite with private onsen. Kids loved it, food was excellent and staffs from front desk to the restaurant were impeccable. Special mention to Ou who was very helpful with our questions and personally gave us an orientation of our suite. We had a great view of the...

We had a corner suite room with our own onsen. Wake up to lovely mountain views and running river sounds. Unbelievable! For suite rooms, you have your own private dining room. The dinner was lovely! It was brimming with the best quality organic vegetables! We loved it. They speak very good English at reception, they were helpful with the free shuttle...

We enjoyed this ryokan - the in-room private onsen was perfectly relaxing. The traditional kaiseki meal was tasty and creative. The hotel's Western breakfast was also very good. The staff was very professional and friendly. The hotel is close to Hakone's main attractions.

We had a great stay at this riyokan. The front desk staff had excellent command of the English language though we had one unfortunate miscommunication (read the end). Each room has a unique name, and our bed was quite large for Japanese standards. We had a junior suite which was large and had a great view of the hillside and...

We stayed here because we like the private Japanese bath that is on the veranda of the room, which is big enough for two, much privacy and it made from Japanese cedar. There were many non-Japanese staying at the hotel when we were there. Dinner wasn't very good being many vegetables shabu shabu, and make sure that you order the...

This was a traditional japanese hotel that did an all inclusive evening meal and japanese breakfast. It was located in the Hakone area - which was beautiful although a little too much geared to the tourism industry. The hotel itself had great rooms, ours had a private onsen and the view over the valley was spectacular. We woke up to...
