The ryokan offers a really traditional Japanese room. It's located around 300 metres from the bus stop. There was a convenient store near the bus stop (the lady helping us with q-bin was really nice and extremely helpful). The check in process went pretty smooth despite the staff at the reception speak only a little English. He explained to us... More

Well, this ryokan/hotel sure looks so old, really need touches of renovations. Room is quite spacious although no so clean. Has 2 sharing bathrooms in this property, yet the small one is so dark & covered with moss at the bottom. The best thing to savor from this ryokan/hotel is the FOOD! The dinner set menu served with great varieties and... More

This ryokan was horribly overpriced for what we got. The room was gross and had a musty mold smell and stains on the walls. Only one spare outlet in the room with no real internet connection to speak of. The communal toilets are on different floors, which was not very convenient. Everything was old and run-down. Paper-thin walls ensure you'll... More

I'd booked a place called Saneiso because of its good reviews and beautiful onsen. Unfortunately, the day before my arrival the hotel emailed me saying they had a problem with the onsen and asked me to proceed to their sister hotel, Manten no Hoshi, instead. It was awful. The booking.com score is only about a 6, so needless to say... More

The staffs are very helpful & polite. We manage to have our own Onsen 2 times a day, probably because not many people staying here during our visit in early July 2015. The onsen experience was remarkable. The room is actually quite big and able to accommodate 4 of us. The thing I must stress is that they served very... More

Plus points The food is good. The staff work really hard to bring you a traditional Japanese feast twice a day in your room. Negaitive points Their onsen is not good as it said on their web site. There are two baths where you can reserve time for private bathing, but not one you can go in anytime you want.... More

Excellent dinner and breakfast. Do note that breakfast is rice with light dishes. Service was great. Staff was very helpful, even resorting to language apps to communicate effectively with me. Bath malfunctioned on our second night but we could use the facilities in nearby sister hotels within a stone throw away. Overall, facilities are old but excellent food and service.... More

I choose this place as a Japanese colleague had suggested that for a trip we should stay in a traditional inn with the onsen. For us the inn was ok as we are young travellers but I wish we had spent a bit more money to stay in a more luxury place. Plus points The food is totally incredible. The... More

The owner and the hotel manager were very kind and thoughtful. We arrived the hotel in late evening with rain, the hotel manager was very helpful to dry our luggage and on the departure date, again we left with the rain, the hotel manager gave us 2 umbrella and clean towel without any charge. The facilities of this hotel is... More
