I stayed here for a night on the way to Tokyo from Osaka for the sole purpose of having a private onsen. Other hotels with private onsens included in the room were about $200 less but with very basic rooms so we decided to pay the extra for a large, fashionable room and stay in this ryokan. That was a...

The food in this place was superb. The staff were great. English limited but made every effort to communicate and meet all our needs. Very attentive. The rooms were perfect and v spacious. Slightly remote but easy access with the bus. Definately recommend

This is a fantastic property that is very representative of what a good, old, traditional Japanese Ryokan should offer. The staff were very helpful and there was always someone around who spoke English so there was no mis-communication. Although we could not have breakfast (bit late start at 8am), the dinner we had the night we stayed was amazing.

I really want to give this place more than a two rating but a three seems to be too much... 3 of us traveled to the Hakone region to see Mt Fuiji, we decided to stay overnight in a Ryokan. We choose this one and I think we made a mistake. The place itself was nice enough, although we experienced...

“We stayed in the Royal Room with a private onsen and foot soak bath. If you can afford it, I definitely recommend staying in this room. Bring some ear plugs if you're not used to loud noises while sleeping as the mountain winds do make a lot of noise blowing against the room's thin walls and windows.”
