Warm with excellent communal facilities, convenient and pleasant rural location right opposite Venetian Glass Museum (a must see!), on 2 different bus routes. Very pleasant Spanish manager who is a great help and prepares an excellent cooked breakfast. Best rooms are ensuite at back away from any traffic noise. Free tea, coffee and snacks available at all times. Hakone has very many attractions and merits a three night stop to take advantage of very economical 3 day all transport pass (train, bus, cable car, cruise, funicular). Great place to stay, excellent in all respects.

We received a warm welcome at Japan countryside, together with a cup of tea and biscuits in the lovely decorated living room. Hiromi has very good English which makes things easy (this was not always the case along our rail trip) The japanese breakfast prepared by the Spanish employee (from Andalucia) was fabulous! Hiromi has been so helpful calling Haneda airport regarding our lost luggage and explaining the whole situation over the phone for us in Japanese once again. We offered to pay for the call but she refused. When we were gone, she got further news and sent me an email which was so nice from her. We wish we could have stayed longer. If you would like some food at night, I understood from Hiromi that you can ask in advance and they will prepare for you. Great stay all together!

Firstly id like to say we managed to get a 24 hour hakone travel pass after only seeing ads for 3 day passes. now to the hotel. our pass took us by train and then bus straight to our accommodation. Very easy to find as its opposite the venetian glass museum (a designated bus stop) We would call the place a country type inn. The room is up one flight of low stairs. It had two single beds but very comfortable. The bathroom is smallish with a shower above the bath. its all oldish but very country cozy. Heating comprised of hot water bottle and a modern oil heater which was adequate. although the cook was on leave the manager did go out of his way to cook us some chicken and chips and provided some nice cold beer The restuarant area is quaint with lots of paraphernalia about, beer is around $7 and a hamburger and chips about$20. Keep in mind up here places are far between. A nice spot to get away from the hustle and bustle. Could of stayed longer

What a nice stay at the countryside! It is a very clean and cozy place and we can highly recommend it! You’ve got an own room and a shared bathroom but you can lock the bathroom for yourselves 👍🏻 You get a microwave, oven, coffee and some snacks... Just perfect 👌🏻 We would definitely stay again.
