If you are taking the Hakone Tozan Cable Car from Gora station, alight at the Naka-Gora station. If you are facing uphill remember to exit on the left-hand side. If you exit on the right-hand side you will not be able to cross over the tracks as there is no overpass or underpass. From the station take the first right,...

The senior lady serving meals barged in to our room with her master key at 8am with another senior guy, even though we had informed them and reminded the receptionist guy the night before, to tell them to come at 8.30am to serve breakfast. Obviously, we were still sleeping at 8am and was very rudely awaken. Even then, the senior...

Actually this is a good hotel...but I'm not a fans of traditional room like this. It's quite hard for me to sleep on the floor with traditional Japanese mattress. But the room is very big with a living room. But for the bathroom...is a bit small and dark. Wifi is only at the lobby.

Spent three nights here with my son, daughter in law and 5 grand children. Kids loved sleeping on the rice mat floors and eating where we slept. Food was typical Japanese and was enjoyed by all. Breakfast and dinner were served each day.The gardens at the hotel are fantastic. The hotel is a short walk from the Hakone train station....

The location: The hotel is location of a high part of the Hakone-machi area in Kawaguchi. In the middle of (what seems to be upper-class) residential area, from your room windows you see people's houses. Almost no traffic. Don't expect convenient stores around. If you want a nice and quiet place, this is the best choice. The hotel: On the...

We were part of a group and the room seemed to be in need of paint, upgrade. Outside of that, it was fine. Nice staff, good service. Great food at breakfast and at Japanese banquet style dinners. If you are traveling independently, you may be able to request an upgraded or newly renovated room.

My girlfriend and me booked three nights at this Ryokan-style Onsen hotel during the winter. It was cold and snowing outside which really made it feel nice to stay in our cosy room. We basically spent the three days eating, sleeping, reading and going into the hot spring. There's a few activities in the area, including glassblowing and a cable...

A group of 18 of us held a reunion at the Hakone Gora last week, in the midst of a heat wave; unfortunately, the weather obscured the beautiful Fuji views that are the main attraction of the Hakone area; while the hotel was not as plush as the Hyatt Regency a 5 minute away that I had stayed on during...

“Rooms overlooking the park are said to have great views but are on the street side so may be noisier. Ours was at the back, quiet, nice view of distant mountains but alley, back yards below.”
