We chose the place because they have fresh hot spring water pumped by themselves. We used the family-private hot spring bath which was very nice. Did not try the big public baths as I don't want my two minor boys go by themselves. Both dinner and breakfast were excellent too. The location is far from the town/shops/restaurants, very quiet and... More

My husband and I stayed here just one night, but it was fabulous. Staff was lovely, the room was spacious (included a Western-style sitting area along with the tatami floor for the futon), and the food was fabulous. The room included a little mochi treat for each of us, and really high-quality tea. Pro-tip: make sure to drink at least... More

We had to try a ryokan that served a traditional multi-course ryokan meal. Can't say we actually enjoyed the meal -- breakfast was way more to our liking -- but we did enjoy the experience. If you go, try the outdoor bath. Same hot water as indoors, but so pleasant listening to the birds and gazing up at the trees... More

Definitely a visit to share. The sulphur springs were a highlight of our trip. The dinner for two nights which. Was included was a feast of Japanese cuisine. The breakfast was also plentiful. I would recommend but it is an old ryoken so do not expect much at night. The scenery is great and the bus stop 50m away so... More

I’m not sure what the difference is between a ryokan vs a yusenkan, but our stay at Kinokunyia was very pleasant. Kinokuniya Yusankan is in the same complex at the back of Kinokunyia Ryokan, with privileges to the shared and private baths. We had a Japanese style room in the annex with very comfy beds. Our meals were served in... More

My husband and I traveled to Japan for our honeymoon and stayed at Kinokuniya Ryokan for 2 nights immediately after we climbed Mt. Fuji in early July 2015. Traveling to the ryokan was very straight forward once we arrived at one of the main train/bus stations. The maps are very clear and in English - so if you are new... More

Bought a 3D2N Ryokan stay via Japanican website. Stayed 9th April to 11th April at this Ryokan. It was sakura season so payed a bit more than usual. But its worth it. This Ryokan is equipped with their own Onsen spring. It means that the source of the spring is at the Ryokan itself. I was made to believe that... More

The latest modern hotel is differed from. However, it can relax. Because, a hot spring =ONSEN is very good. If you wish the traditional hot spring, selection of this hotel is the best. Of course, there is also a room of a high price. The room is very gorgeous. This time, the reasonable room was chosen. But the kind of hot... More

I was looking for good Ryokan including special Japanese meals in this area and found this one. The Ryokan is quite big, like a resort with separate sections and 3 private baths in addition to the public onsens. The rooms are fairly large, a bit worn but that's part of the charm. The staff only speaks little English but tries... More

Travelling around Japan, I wanted to try at least one a Ryokan. The review on tripadvisor were right: the place is amazingly charming, it seems to go back of some years, but with all the modern services we need (wifi!) I booked a tatami room for 2, and the price included dinner, breakfast, access to the public onsen, and a... More
