The hotel is situated almost directly opposite Mito train station and very near lots of restaurants and shopping. It was also easy walking distance to the old samurai school which was interesting. The rooms are a little bit old, but the comfort level and cleanliness was fine. The staff were extremely welcoming and friendly even though their English was very... More

I stayed there for a night with my boyfriend and we had a good experience. Excellent service, nice room with everything we needed including a large, comfortable bed and full bathroom. The breakfast was pretty good as it gave us a choice between an american or japanese breakfast. The american one includes eggs of your choice along with meat (bacon... More

Our family visited Mito for several weeks in June of 2014. The hotel had a larger room with a sitting area that accommodated our family of 4 persons very comfortably. The room was clean, well air-conditioned with a nice bathroom (western style), comfortable beds and a small in-room fridge for drinks and snacks. The staff were lovely and extremely polite... More

We stayed in the Keisei for 4 days while visiting friends in Mito and were pleasantly surprised with the size of the room/beds and the location, which was excellent - right opposite the station and a multistorey mall with excellent restaurants, food courts and depato. The staff were friendly and courteous (despite an initial hiccup when we discovered that we... More

The hotel is rather old (and "old style" as well), and you can see it. It would have a need for an important general refreshment, especially in the interior and in the rooms. Room isolation is non existing and in addition the TVs are attached to the wall with the loudspeakers very close to the contiguous room. Breakfast not buffet,... More

The Mito Keisei Hotel is the number 1 Hotel in Mito. Still it is a typical averaged countryside hotel. The hotel had been built 40 years ago, and you can see that it is a bit worn out. Depite the renovations 2 years ago , the furniture and the ceramics in the rooms are old and not in the best... More

This was our first hotel in Japan. We were traveling using public transportation. Hotel was very easy 5 minute walk (or 3 min. taxi ride approx. $6) to Mito bus and train station- which is more than just a transport hub. There are restaurants and a large variety of stores to shop in. We don't speak any Japanese but were... More

Keisei is a standard business hotel with a slightly old fashioned feel - bigger rooms than usual, at least for a single. I was here for 4 nights on business and it was a convenient choice: about 3 minutes from the station on the North side (a better area for small restaurants and bar than the south side where most... “Most of the rooms are a little small and comfortable for only 2 people (3 people would be a tight fit), but they do have a larger room with a "suite" feel to it for larger parties of 3-4 persons.”
 of 5 bubbles PTG5, Jul 15, 2014 | Read review
“Avoid rooms close to the lifts, as they are very old and especially noisy. Sometimes the top floor is used for big receptions, so avoid very high floor (i.e. >=9).”
of 5 bubbles SilkDragonfly, Nov 14, 2013 | Read review
“Luckily I had a Japanese colleague telephone to make sure my room was really non-smoking. If you are sensitive to this ( I am) the corridors stank of cigarettes so smoking rooms are probably terrible. Mine was fine.”
