Hotel Vibrant Otaru is really at an excellent location being right next to the Otaru Canal bus station and at the start of Sakaimachihondori Street. Also the rooms are not expensive and service is decent

The hotel is located between the station and the canal and so convenient for sightseeing. The room is clean and not tiny but has no character (but the exterior and lobby have a heritage look). The bread and coffee served at breakfast is not worth. Better off getting a coffee and something else at a convenience store. Otaru is a...

We enjoyed our 4-night stay at Hotel Vibrant. Accommodation in Otaru is relatively expensive. While the hotel has seen better days and is looking somewhat tired, it does offer good value basic rooms in an historical building (formerly a bank) that has character and is very conveniently located. The only thing we didn't like was the stink of cigarette smoke...

We booked a Corner Twin Room to accommodate a family of four. Room size is decently good but the wifi connection is totally not there. I saw some hotel guests standing along the corridor frantically trying to connect. Location is superb as it is only about 3 min walk to the famous lookout point of the canal. We missed the...

We stayed here for 4 nights, part of which were during the snow light path festival (everything else in a decent location and our price range was booked). If I'd had a crystal ball I would have paid more to stay somewhere else. Yes, it's in a good location, near the canal, tourist shopping St and the Canal Terminal (where...

We stayed one night in Hotel Vibrant Otaru. While the experience was ok and we didn't have any trouble, I would definitely look for something else next time. The room was small and a bit shabby looking. The linen and floors appeared clean - but I was a bit doubtful of the overall cleanliness after discovering a medium sized patch...

Otaru itself was a letdown due to the overwhelming amount of pest-like tourists. Canal was outrageously over-rated as it looks like a regular river. I admit there's a lot of shops & restaurants around the area, but you can feel the prices and quality are targeted towards tourists. Location - We picked this hotel since it's really near to the...

A nostalgic hotel within 2mins stroll to the Otaru Canal and shops. A cosy lobby and dinning area. The reception staff is helpful, notwithstanding the smile is somewhat missing. Comes with simple breakfast of bread and coffee, just enough calories to fuel you to the Sankaku Market for a hearty seafood meal !

Great spot. Nice and clean with a ship concept hotel. But room space are cramped up for a family member up to 4 person even though for an extra bed arrangements. Can hardly walk especially we have big luggage. Bathroom is still OK same standard for most hotel in JPN. Overall is still 80% satisfactory and recommended.

Yes, this hotel is very close to Otaru Canal but other than that, there is nothing good about it. The room was super small that barely fit our luggages (the smallest so far compared to those I have visited in Japan), the bed was uncomfortable, and way too overpriced.
