We really enjoyed our stay at Hakodate Mura. The rooms are basic but the entire place is extremely well maintained & very clean. The best thing though are the Japanese owners of this bed & breakfast. Both husband & wife were extremely nice, welcoming & helpful giving us great tips on where to eat in Hakodate. Breakfast was outstanding -...

I cannot recommend this hotel enough. The hotel is run by a very keen and funny man and a lovely and equally hospitable lady. I was surprised at how big the hotel was (as hotels in Japan tend to be smaller than in England). The breakfast was very tasty and good value (definitely have the breakfast!!) it was cooked and...

We stayed here for three nights and were very pleased with our choice. The place is well located (convenient to the ropeway, the port, the old brick warehouses, and a couple of tram lines; about a 15-minute walk to the morning market and the train/bus station), quiet, friendly, and spotlessly clean. Tea and coffee are always available in the common...

Great place to stay in Hakodate and perhaps meet some other travelers who you can explore the city with. Breakfast was excellent and the hosts were extremely gracious and friendly. It really nice that this is a no-shoe establishment. Keeps it clean (like many places in Japan) and you are entering "their home". Central to everything in Hakodate and easy...

The B&B Owners are extremely nice and helpful and they speak good English. The place is located a 15-20 minute walk from the railway station and very close to the main attractions (bay area, Mont Hakodate, warehouse district with restaurants and shops). The room was tiny but clean and confortable enough. We stayed 3 in one of the lofts. The atmosphere...

The place is a fews minutes walk from Jujigai tram station, the old red brick warehouse, also within walking distance to the ropeway to mount Hakodate. The neighbourhood is very quiet and there aren't many shops around. Room was clean. All the rooms share bathrooms and toilets. The host is friendly and able to speak little English.

I had this as my first hotel in Japan and slept very well after a long flight. The owners are exceedingly friendly, the location is good. They have a choice between western and Japanese style rooms. All in all, a good choice.

The hosts go above and beyond to make you comfortable and give you good advice (they speak great English which was a help for me). Rooms are old but comfy. Location is awesome! Right around the corner from the bay area, the ropeway and 10-15min walk to the train station and the main shopping areas. The hosts even go to...

My only complaint is the 15-20 minute walk to Hakodate Station, everything else was wonderful. Hakodate Mura has a terrific location – Motomachi and Mt Hakodate ropeway are close by, and there is the BEST shop for 'real' souvenirs (none of this touristy stuff you get in the Brick Warehouses) just a 50m walk away – directly ahead when you...

“Good value for families and couples. A bit pricey for individuals as the single rooms are quite large, however the service and location is well worth it!”

“There is only one en-suite room - which I took! I think the establishment specializes in attracting people with more traditional tastes, However Subiko is very sensitive to customer tastes and it would be hard to find anything to complain about.!!”
