This is a very good chain hotel. Like other reviewers we were hugely impressed with the thoughtful complimentatry extras like the help yourself range of bath salts, the evening ramen (which other places do do), the good coffee on offer in the lobby and perhaps best of all the ability to borrow a down overcoat for the day. My wife used one as it was -26 deg C (with wild chill) outside and she said she stayed toasty warm. Breakfast was extra but the range is impressive - even ice cream on offer for breakfast! Rooms are compact but not small and everything spotless. Location handy for the restaurant / bar district. Will be using WBF again when we go to Japan.
This is one of the most generous hotels I have come across. They provide free-flow refreshments, soft serve ice cream and even ramen supper. There is a pillow bay on every floor where you can take additional pillows in various firmness levels as you like. Laundry machine is also complimentary, you just need to buy the detergent from the dispenser. Just be aware that it takes over 3 hours for the wash and dry cycle to complete. Very neat and clean throughout. Within the liveliest district so you can walk around for a large variety of F&B outlets. You can also walk to the Kushiro Washo market (about 20 mins) which we did after check-out because we had to wait for our laundry. Reception kindly kept our bags. Misses - You have to pay for parking which is of a reasonable amount but then you have to walk across the street to the lot if the one next to the hotel is full (which only has space for 8 cars or so). I was very upset with the check-in process. There was a group of businessmen who were also checking-in and had no regard for queuing. Reception should acknowledge that I was waiting in line and asked the last man who waltzed in to wait his turn. The rowdiness of these men soured the experience of enjoying the common space. The room was quite small and the curtains were inadequate. There is no smoking room/area. Breakfast is so-so.…
This was the best hotel experience in Japan so far. The ladies at the reception are extremely friendly and helpful. The hotel is run to make you feel comfortable. There are bath salts, different pillows and many other goodies at your disposition, like umbrellas. I am going back to this hotel next time in Kushiro (and have a stay booked in Sapporo). It has a fair price and great location. It offers cheap car park which is a plus. The location is perfect too, it's a stroll to the harbour.
Great budget hotel, friendly staff, fantastic breakfast and very centrally located in Kushiro with many dining options. Highly recommend. While we were there for the 2 nights, they also provided free ice cream, coffee and a good ramen soup snack in the lobby area from 9-10 pm. Highly recommend
We were not expecting much from this hotel as the price was extremely reasonable. However, we had a very pleasant surprise. We were welcomed enthusiastically by the reception staff and were amazed at the facilities offered - free use of mobile phone, laundry, ice cream, ramen and much more. Room was typical Japanese business style. Hotel was very clean, food excellent, parking across the road and top class staff. We wish we could have stayed longer.
