As you exit the station, turn right. The hotel is 5 minutes walk away. Hotel signage not very prominent unfortunately. Check in was pleasant and fast. Recently refurbished, the room was very clean. Breakfast was very good - lots of baked goods and Japanese breakfast staples as well. Worth noting their breakfast starts early (6 ish) thus making it possible to take the first train out of Kushiro. I booked on their Japanese website using a translator and stayed one night. Kushiro was very cold even when the sun was shining and the temperature drops very fast. The town has a forlorn look and feel about it. Not many restaurant choices close by and many were closed (Saturday night). Eventually settled on a small place across from the station serving Italian food. The pasta with mussels was delicious and the service was pleasant.

Kushiro Royal Inn is a good place to stay. It is close to the station and very easy to lug your bags from the train. Especially good if, like the other day there is snow everywhere. The breakfast is excellent and the staff efficient and friendly. Kushiro is a very quiet town and on the face of it not particularly interesting, however in between your trips into the countryside there are a lot of interesting “hole in the wall” places to eat. TAKKE with only about ten seats is very good. The phone number is 080-1867-0153 and the hotel staff can call and help you find it. You might ask them to organise a course of food. Visiting this remote town you no doubt are interested in wildlife and nature, because there would be no other reason to visit. We arrived in February and used TORO NATURE 015-487-3100 which we booked on line a few months prior. They picked us up at the hotel door and took us out into the countryside to see the cranes and participate in a few other activities. For this reason the Kushiro Royal Inn is perfectly located. If you come here in winter make sure you wear the correct snow gear or you will not enjoy your visit. We have been here four nights and every day began with -7C warming up by midday to -3C. It has also been down to -30C in January. If you have never had to deal snow consult a expert re clothing. Do not expect to walk out in sneakers for an evening walk in Kushiro if it has been snowing all day.

The hotel offers free breakfast which was a big surprise to me. You won't expect too much from a free breakfast which I normally could finish within 15 mins because of not much choices. The hotel provides a variety of bread and pastries. It seems this was the most delicious bread or pastries I had in Japan no matter they were free or not. The facilities and room of the hotel are adequate for a short stay. The location is also awesome which is only 1-2 min walk to JR station or bus terminal.

We walk in for this hotel around 7pm. The staff are helpful. The reception staff can speak simple good English. The buffet breakfast has many choices up to you to eat. (Japanese style and Western style). Parking is 500 Yen for overnight. Check out system is simple and good. Easy to find food surrounding the hotel. Wifi is free but need to sign in once. Room is clean and tidy. Many infomation about Kushiro can be found in the hotel lobby.

This business hotel is very conveniently located --- a stone’s throw from the train and bus stations. Check-in, as is usual in Japan, was efficient; women (and only women) were offered a gift such as hand lotion or a hair clip. As is also usual in Japan, the room was tiny but efficiently arranged. There was very little space around the bed. The bed and pillows were a bit too hard for us; the shower was very good. The breakfast buffet, included in the room price, was the most notable aspect of our stay here. The variety of dishes, both Asian and Western, was good, although I would have liked a few more fruit and vegetable options. For bread/pastry lovers, however, this place would be heaven! I’ve never seen such a selection! Edamame bread, croissants of various types, apple-raisin pastries, “original” white bread, potato-salad sandwiches(!), and numerous other creations are available daily.

I have stayed for some years and I always love to go back there to meet friendly restaurant staff and supportive receptionists. The location is good, only few minutes walk from train station, and more importantly breakfast survive is excellent, buffet including fish, local chicken dishes and fresh bakery make you happy. Definitely good value for money ! I'd recommend anyone visiting the city.

It is my second visited to Kushiro Royal Inn, I still feel comfortable and value. Front desk staffs are nice and helpful, we just spend 7 minutes to complete check-in process. We stayed at semi-double room this time. The room is a little bit small but clean and tidy up. All equipment are function and wifi is available in guest room. The bed and mattress are comfortable. Breakfast is one major reason to stay here, don't miss it. Finally, Kushiro Royal Inn is my first choice in Kushiro.

Right by Kushiro train station, this is a pleasant business hotel. Check-in and check-out are quick and efficient, it's spick and span, and the staff are helpful. There's parking too. The bedroom is small, as usual, but well-appointed - free WiFi, and from the 9th floor at least, a view over the town. The bed is on the hard side, and the walls are a bit thin, both common things in Japanese hotels. All in, reasonable value for money.

We had a good sized room and the hotels location close to both the bus and railway station is very good. This hotel has a superb Viking breakfast with an extensive bakery corner. Staff were friendly and helpful. About 10 minutes walk to restaurants ( at least the ones we could find). If visiting Kushiro I would recommend staying here.
