The owner was super duper nice!!!! He took us to every spot and also picked us up. They prepared everything for us, like towels, toothbrush, shampoo, even water cleanser and cotton cleansing pads. We were so lucky that we could stay here and enjoyed our trip without any problems thanks to the kindness of the owner. I highly recommend you to stay here, it will be the most perfect choice for your trip!! I will definitely stay here next time if I come to Izukogen.

The facilities were clean and beautiful (tatami floors) also they lend you yukatas to wear inside but you can also take them out if you want.

The meals were delicious, we tried both breakfasts and the plentiful dinner.

The personal was very attentive and helpful, always at hand whenever we needed help, and also with good english level so communication was not a problem.

They also gave us a ride to the coast and to the train stations.

The bath was wonderful, private and easy to reserve.

The beds (futon) were very comfortable and the room was well conditioned and with beautiful traditional panels.

10/10 experience

The hospitality is exceptional! Hiyoshi san kindly dropped and picked me up to/ from nearby attractions. Hinodeya has a charming vibe that makes you feel at home. Dinner and breakfast are excellent. I recommend to take the full package with dinner and breakfast!
Overall I really enjoy my stay at Hinodeya and recommend anyone to stay here for their trip in Izu Kogen. Not to mention, the location is within 10 mins walk from Izu Kogen station and to the starting point of Jogasaki coast trekking course.

This ryokan is small, clean and lovely and warm. Our room (Oshima Room) was large with new tatami mats and lovely comfortable futons. The breakfast included in the room rate was delicious and home cooked in the traditional Japanese way. There are two bathhouses and we used them both on our two night stay. They are both clean and well maintained and you book them for private use. Close to supermarket and restaurants, it is walking distance t the Izu-Kogen railway station. The hosts were friendly and drove us to the start of the Jogasaki Coast Walk and Mt Omaru. Would definitely stay here again. There are many attractions in the area

I had a lovely relaxing stay for 2 nights at Hinodeya. The staff were very welcoming, the room was great. It’s a small ryokan with about 8 rooms. I paid for ‘half board’ which included breakfast and dinner, which was fabulous both nights/mornings. They also have a self-service coffee and tea bar. The bathrooms are shared, but there are plenty of toilets on both levels and the shared bathing facilities were very clean. They have a great QR code system for booking bathing/onsen so you’ll have it all to your self for 15minutes to a hour (whatever you decide to book). There is a Seven Eleven less than 5 minutes walk for all of your other needs.
The staff will happily drive you to the local tourist attractions, you just need to give them a bit of notice. They also pick up and drop off the train station but it’s only about 10 minutes walk if you take the correct exit from the train station (don’t follow Google or Apple Maps!) I couldn’t ask for anything more, happy to recommend!

Fantastic traditional rural ryokan in great condition for a peaceful rest. Very comfortable beds. The hosts were exceedingly kind and hospitable. The food was typical Japanese, delicious and very large portions, even by American standards. There are two mineral bath to reserve around the clock for 4- and 2-people. Everything was clean and orderly. Felt at home and relaxed. Can’t wait to visit again with the entire family. Right across the street is a wonderful izakaya and other restaurants and public onsen within walking distance Cheers

Loved this place. I was a Little weary from a previous Japanese-style accommodation I had elsewhere that the place may be a little too old and barebones and musty smelling for my taste, but it was great! The place has been in operation since the current operator’s grandfather founded it in the 1930’s, and you can feel the TLC and innate skill and effort they put in to maintaining and operating it. Clean and comfortable accommodations, maximized privacy for an establishment that shares toilet and bathing spaces, and very accommodating and generous staff that really want to help make your trip to the Izu peninsula as seamless as reasonably possible. Would honestly recommend this to ANYBODY traveling to the region.

Best stay experience we had in japan, small ryokan with only few rooms but it has everything, it has 2 size of public onsen big and small we can use any of it.

The room is traditional japanese room with tatami floor and futon, feeling so comfortable and feel really living in japanese life.

The best part is their hospitality, they offer to pick you up from station when you arrive, you can ask breakfast when you check in, they help us to buy ticket for teddy bear museum with discount, sent us to the museum and even pick and drop us to the station when we were done, biggest regards from us for hiyoshi san 🙇‍♂️🙇‍♀️

This beautiful Ryokan is located within walking distance of several museums, small shops and restaurants. If you forget anything, there is a Daiso on the same street! It is in walking distance of public transit and the train station! The owner is a wonderful man who will pick you up and drop you off from some of the further out locations. The baths were amazing and since you book them privately, you can enjoy without any concern. The breakfast I had was amazing both days I was here. I highly recommend staying that this location!
