Everything works and is beautifully kept at this luxury ryokan. Bags are carried to your room and everything is carefully explained, as you have welcome tea. The hot baths ARE hot, and to be used privately. You find a vacant one and lock the door, until you're finished. Dinner and breakfast are very delicious.

This is a traditional style Ryokan - we had a deluxe Japanese style room which was perfect - sleep on very comfortable futons set up over dinner, but with a sunken table area with proper seats and a lovely balcony overlooking the woods. Dinner was traditional kaiseki style which requires some stretching of the typical western comfort zone, but the...

I've lived and traveled in Asia for 8 years and have never experienced hospitality like I experienced at Hanafubuki. Ryokans are special places because they aren't just a place to sleep, but they are a place to relax and experience traditional Japanese food, culture, and hospitality. The great thing about this place is that they have staff who can speak...

We arrived to The hotel at noon, the check-in time was at 2 pm. We took a walk for looking around while waiting. The nature at this place was so nice and peaceful. There were pathways to walk to the sea and a mountain. At exactly 2 o'clock, we were served with homemade snack with hotel's special tea which was...

We spent one night at Hanafubuki between Kyoto and Tokyo. It took a few different trains to get there from Kyoto, but still absolutely worth the trip. We enjoyed several of the private onsens, had an amazing dinner, and slept like babies. The coastline is nearby and has a scenic hiking trail that's definitely worth a visit, too. We loved...

We spend our last night (in a trip of 15 nights) at Hanafubuki. It was a most excellent choice for our final night. The staff were courteous and helpful, the setting quiet & peaceful, and the amenities and food of the highest quality. Our Kaiseki dinner was superb, as were the grilled fish & western style breakfasts we were treated...

Hanafubuki had a plan for a solo traveler, providing a full access to various hot springs in the premise along with a meal plan for both dinner and breakfast preserving privacy. It's a lovely place equipped with a cozy welcome area served with a tea and a bag of sweet snacks. Upon check-in, the staff took me to a room...

We went at Hanafubuki during our Japanese trip between Kyoto and Tokyo. This place is so quiet and beautiful. All the onsens (hot springs) are private which is quite exclusive in Japan. People are so friendly and the breakfast and lunch are delicious. A good way to discover the Japanese way of life.
