This was one of our favourite accommodation in our three week stay in Japan. Handily located to well run family restaurants, the market, and short taxi ride from the station. There is a traditional store selling calligraphy brushes nearby. Also around the corner is a good therapeutic masseur, ask the ryokan to make your booking. The owner and his mother...

This is a lovely family run ryokan located within walking distance to major kanazawa sites. Bungo and his mother went out of their way to make us feel welcome. Bungo gave great dinner recommendations and was endlessly patient showing us how to get to places. Use of the ryokan bikes was also a great way to explore. A very comfortable...

We stayed in four ryokan, and a number of hotels, during our trip to Japan and this was our favourite. It is a simple ryokan, but very comfortable, good futons and pillows, and absolutely spotless. The bathrooms were large and available for morning showers also. Bungo was particularly helpful and kind. His list of restaurants, coffee shops and izakayas is...

Bungo and his mother are a great team in running the ryokan. Always friendly and hospitable..we very much enjoyed their company. Traditional Japanese breakfast on several mornings was much enjoyed. Travelled with my parents, aged in late 70s. They had a downstairs room looking out to a delightful garden with private bathroom and toilet. Both slept well on the futons,...

Most of the reviews about this ryokan are spot on. Yamamuro is a fairly basic Japanese style hotel very conveniently located within walking distance of the main attractions of Kanazawa. It is generally comfortable and a reasonable choice, but the simple rooms and facilities are certainly not the reason for my high rating. What sets the place apart is the...

Traditional Japanese ryokan (think tatami mats, futons, paper screen doors) in a great spot just 5 mins to the fresh food markets. It's clean & comfy, but the lovely & helpful staff are the best part. They really make u feel at home. You can use the bikes that the ryokan has, or hire some from just around the corner....

This is a pretty basic japanese style hotel. As usual in Japan, the place is clean and the personnel is exceptionally friendly. Leave your shoes at the door, put on some slippers and have tea. Toilets and bathrooms are shared. You can order a japanese breakfast but this is not included in the price. The best thing about this place...

We stayed for two nights at ryokan Yamamoto and it was perfect. Bungu provides tons of information to help you enjoy Kanazawa including maps and restaurant recommendations. It's clean and our room with the private bath was very spacious. Breakfast is also very good (traditional Japanese.)

Bungo and his mother made our stay so special. Nothing is too much. Felt like I was staying with long lost relatives. The welcome and hospitality was first class and all the advice given was spit on. Make sure you get the Japanese breakfast. Extra yummy. Rooms spotless and the garden outside our room was relaxing. Close to everything so...
