The hostel is very near to the train station, around 10mins walk. The hostel is a bit old... but the facilities are very clean so I think overall speaking, it is a good choice in takayama. The staff is extremely helpful and nice. They recommended me with a few suggested restaurant after I check in. Good choice is takayama.

It was a lovely stay, clean and very close to the jr station. It was also a good base for venturing to nearby locations such as hida furukawa and gero. They offer a cheaper bus option to shirakawa-go. The trip to kamikochi is only 1.5hr away from here. I would recommend staying here as staff were also very helpful and... More

We slept here for 2 nights in a private japanese room. The futons were great!! Everything was nice and clean, and there was a vending machine to get bear or girlie drinks at night. Staff was really helpful when we asked something. They were also really intrested when we got back from a day strolling the streets in Takayama. Walking... More

Typical hostel-style stay with absolute friendly And helpful staff. They gave us excellent information About things to do, restaurants and daily events. The room was spacious, a bit damp (but we could open the Windows which was a real plus.) good laundry options, bike And towel rental And a convenient kitchen area. And... Takayama is a small town, this hostel is just about 10 mins walk away from JR Takayama Station. We think it is renovated from an old onsen hotel, so the twin room is much bigger than usual hostel rooms. But you still have to share toilets and shower rooms. Staff are nice and helpful, they can also help to book... More

Near the station and a few supermarkets. And walking distance to the sights. The curtained beds provided great privacy almost like having your own private space. Kitchen is quite small to accommodate too many guests as a whole group of loud Chinese were there monopolizing the space.

J Hoppers are so ridiculously welcoming asking us genuinly and in detail about our travels so far! Their kitchen and facilities are great and the staff are even better! The range of languages spoken between staff are so well.managed that it wpuld be impossible for anyone to have any sort of barrier! I would 100% be back! The only downfall!... More

It looks like it has a lack of space, but i felt comfortable there. Showers and toilet clean, and bed was good and each had courtains for... More
