This place is perfect. It's off city but very near the Ropeway though. Perfect for people who wants to visit the ropeway since the day light is short during year end period. Took the hotel shuttle bus to get to there. This is a cheaper option because the Nohi bus charges twice the amount. However, when we returned, there's only...

We stayed here for a night. It was the most expensive hotel during our trip because it included dinner and breakfast. My first experience at an onsen hotel was in Hakone and the food was not good at that Hakone hotel, so I was very happy that the meals which included hoba miso beef at Hotakaso Yamano were delicious. The...

We drove here from Takayama about 1.5hrs drive. Reception was friendly and spoke simple english explaining the facilities and floor plan of the resort. The whole hotel is very spacious with little area tucked away for you to chill out. There are 2 indoor onsen (1 male, 1 female) on the ground floor of the hotel. The onsen was rather...

We got to know this hotel from various positive comments to it,and decided to have a try. Since this place is located under the Hida mountain, best known as "Japanese Alps", so you cannot reach here by train, only by bus, the bus is very convenient also though, you should take the line to "Shin Hotaka Ropeway" at Takayama JR...

The hotel is right in the midst of the mountains. The nearest convenient store is 50-minute walk away, no streetlight. That is to say, it is nearly impossible to go anywhere else once you check in. Fortunately, the hotel offers many services you may think of. Besides the hot springs that so many other comments have mentioned, there was a...

Hotel was traditional Japanese style where you could feel the way of Japanese's life. You also could enjoy and relax at their outdoor onsen with stunning scenery. Hotel staff was very polite and helpful. Room and bathroom was standard.

A large open air mixed onsen is the highlight of this hotel. The open air mixed onsen is down the slope from the hotel near a river. It's got fantastic views of the snowy mountains. The hotel provides a short cable car ride for guests' access to this onsen (a very special experience). We stayed in Japanese rooms which are...

This is the best hotel of my Japan Chubu Trip in Nov 2014. It's unforgettable! I've booked this hotel thur Japanese's online agent, price incl. dinner and breakfast. 2 hotel staffs served us when we arrived the front door and they help us to park our car in their private carpark. As we have a booking, they all knew our...

As I arrived here in the evening, the first thing after putting the suitcase in the room is eating. I went to the dining room for Keiseki which is a multiple-course Japanese food in traditional style. The food is great. Sashimi is fresh. The breakfast was also nice. After that, I went to Onsen. After walking from the main building...
