What can I say about this lovely lovely Ryokan? Perfect meals, lovely room, blissful outdoor onsen, warm personal service. The hotel is situated about 10 minutes by car away from town, and we were picked up by the hotel shuttle from Takayama Station. Once we arrived, we were led to the lobby for check in and welcome drinks by our... More

Location: 4 stars. The hotel / ryokan is about a 6-7 minute taxi away from Takayama central station (900 yen). Facilities: 4 stars. The facilitates are quite nice with an above-average onsen and well-appointed rooms. Outdoor onsen has nice landscaping but there isn't much of a view. Rooms include traditional ryokan bedding (i.e. a thin pad on the ground). Wifi... More

We stayed at the private outdoor onsen and we love it very much. The dinner and breakfast are not served inside your room but they provided u with a private room on the second floor. The food is pretty good. If you do not stay the room with private outdoor onsen, they do have a few onsens which look pretty... More

Stayed for 1 night in May 2015 for our honeymoon in the guest room with garden and open air bath. An absolutely amazing experience from the time you get off the bus that picks you up from the train station. They provide you with a drink when you enter in and assign you one member of staff to personally look... More

If there's one reason to go to this ryokan, it's definitely the food! And lots of it! We had two days of superb breakfasts and dinners here and it was out of this world! Everything was presented so beautifully in pretty, artful serving dishes and tasted as good as they looked! The Hida beef was incredibly tender and so delicious!... More

You get personalised service the moment you stepped into the hotel. The staffs were genuinely warm and friendly. The room is the traditional Japanese minimalist concept. In the daytime, the table and chairs (without legs) occupy almost the entire room. In the evening, the staff will prepare your bed (Japanese futon beds) for the night. We had the kaiseki dinner... We stayed for 2 nights in October 2015 + Very nice welcome and great staff throughout our stay + Spacious, clean room + Luxurious bathroom (for Ryokan) + Private onsen + Choice of Japanese or Western breakfast + Nice public onsen +/- Generally high quality food and nice arrangement, especially for dinner. We were unlucky with our Hida beef. The... More

Wonderful spot. Relaxing, charming. The staff anticipates your every need. Not small, but you have one person who looks after you from the moment you enter. I was sorry to leave. Only negative were the pillows, which we didn't find comfortable, but it was a joy to be there

First you take your shoes off when you check into the hotel. You do not wear shoes unless you are leaving the Ryokan. We did not realize there is a shuttle to and from the train station, so we took a cab because it seems the shuttle runs most of the day instead of only the afternoons, which we read.... More

Incredible cultural experience!! This was the absolute gem of our honeymoon.. We entered to a beautiful lobby area, where we were greeted by bowing kimono clad hostesses.. After a refreshing macha tea we chose our robes and were given the grand tour. The grounds are amazing, the onsen is beautiful and so relaxing and the food is incredible!! The service... More
