We booked a room for two night in this hotel which includes breakfast. The staff was friendly and some of them speak english. We were then shown to our room 101 next to Onsen. The staff made us tea for welcoming, it was quite nice of her. The room was clean and the shower was sufficient and modern. Everythig was...

The dinner is quite good and with alot of food. Friendly staffs and good english speaking front desk. Standard Room is consider old but clean, with own toilet and fridge. Overall pricing is good with onsen included and private toilet. Although we reserved non-smoking room but there is ash tray inside without smell inside the room. :-)

The place is located very close to the bus station and is very convenient. Its a great way to explore the kamikochi area. The staff don't speak much English but they are very friendly and polite. We stayed in a traditional room which was comfortable. However, the hotel is looking a bit tired and dated and needs to be upgraded. The...

The dinner and breakfast is traditional and excellent !! It is the best food I had in Japan. The -inbuiding and outdoors hot spring (Onsen) is very convenient. It is really unforgettable experience. The front desk can speak English well. HIghly recommended.

I definitely suggest eating breakfast here as there's not many options nearby. The food is really delicious and they catered to a vegan diet with notice. This is incredibly rare I've found here in Japan so far! It's like a time warp, a relic of the bubble that burst as this used to be a vibrant onsen town. However this...

We stayed here on 11/11 and had a wonderful time 👍. We ordered special request for our dinner (no meat and cooked seafoods) and it's heartening when we saw our dinner 😊. The ryokan really go all out to fulfill our request and we had a delicious kaiseki dinner that night 😍. The rooms are spacious and we slept like...

If you intend to visit Kamikochi, Mount Norikura, Shin-Hotaka Ropeway or other sights in the area, then Hirayu Onsen is a very convenient place to look for accommodation - much more so than Matsumoto or Takayama, as you would have to change buses in Hirayu Onsen anyway. We chose to stay in Nakamurakan because they offered a plan without meals...

My girlfriend and I stayed here in Sept 2013. We were satisfied and would recommend this hotel for budget-concious people looking for a Ryokan experience. This paragraph is just a personal experience: Given the few guests during our stay, the stuffed animals, dim corridors at night and that it was in the middle of a mountain village, the Ryokan felt...

Pros: Close to the station. Very good public bath. Bookable private outdoor baths. counted 15 small courses for dinner. Wifi but only in the lobby. Service minded staff. Cons: A smell of smoke in the entire hotel. Breakfast is very Japanese - a lot of pickled food and rice and no coffee.

We stayed for 3 nights in mid-November this year. Pros: 3 minute walk from Hirayu bus station, v friendly staff (speaks a little English), 3 private baths that you can book for free (they have a timetable and only half an hour at a time), live weather channel of different locations in the mountains (tv in the lobby), instant cup...

“Try to get a room in the wing where the onsen is, on the highest floor (3rd floor). We had 302, which was right outside the lift (a little noisy) but you have the view of the mountains.”
