This is a somewhat older building marred by small rooms cluttered with things not needed in the room. Firm bed, small, firm, flat pillows and only one per bed. Light curtains allowed sunlight in before 5am in rooms facing east. Cubicle style bathroom. This walls. No in-room safe. Reception on third floor and there was little room for cases etc in reception area. Good point was they had adaptors an d other items available for guests free of charge. Good breakfast.
Instead of staying in Nagoya, we chose to stay in Gifu city as it is near to the places we will be visiting and a short train ride to Nagoya. Comfort Hotel Gifu is across JR Gifu and a short walk around the corner to Meitetsu Gifu Station. The room are average Japanese size & clean. The breakfast has a good selection of both Japanese & western choices. As this is also a business class hotel, during morning rush hour, seating in the dinning area is fairly crowded but everyone is fine to share a table. The coffee machine at the dinner area is also free for any guest any time.
Stayed here in June with a Tour Group & found the Hotel great, we walked just across the road to Gifu Station & had a beautiful meal in an Authentic Japanese Restaurant, Sorry can’t remember the name but there were heaps of Japanese eating there so that is always a good indication of a good Restaurant.
The hotel is centrally located, just a couple of blocks from train the station, they serve a complementary breakfast with western and Japanese foods. Rooms were clean and an adequate size. Rooms were quiet.
It's a great little hotel - of course the rooms are small - it's Japan. But it's well placed opposite the JR Gifu station, and the breakfast is really nice and unique. If you come to GIfu I recommend staying here if you can get a decent rate, very comfortable.
