We stayed in a Standard Twin Room. Size wise it was adequate, slightly bigger than most Japanese hotel rooms. We didn’t have big luggages so that helped too. The hotel is about 10 minutes walk to Nagoya Station with easy access to subway and Meitetsu Bus Centre. A choice of western or Japanese breakfast set is offered by 2 restaurants just next to the hotel entrance on the ground floor. They both have a selection of 3 breakfast sets from which you can choose from. Basically a conveniently located typical no frills Japanese hotel.
now when I see the name on a hotel I feel that everything will be as I would like it and again Nagoya's Daiwa was a delight. Location was a short 5 minute wlk from the train station, but do google it, for it is among many other high rise hotels. Also I wasn't really in Nogoya for sightseeing so I don't know if it was close to tourist interests.
Great location near to station. Plenty of shops and restaurants around. Loads of shopping nearby. Nice hotel. Lovely room on 10th floor in the corner. Clean and quiet. Great laundry facilities. You can wash and dry your own clothes in this chain of hotels. Mostly the staff were great, but not all. One was particularly rude and condescending but happy to say they are not all like that. Just a note there is a kettle in your room but you have to get your tea and coffee from reception. This is supposedly for you to interact with the staff but this is not how it works. They don't speak a lot of English, there may be a queue, you may want a drink before or after you are dressed. Sometimes you are made to feel like they are monitoring you. It is not helpful at all and most unusual. Everybody else manages to give you drinks in your room. So do remember to take them up with you when you are passing.…
Ideally located a few minutes walk from the train station. Very convenient for shopping and restaurants. Staff very helpful. As stated by many the breakfast choice is Japanese or European in the local shops at the base of the hotel. Just adequate and gets a bit monotonous after a few days. One very good feature was the laundry which you could use for washing and drying cloths. Very reasonable prices. Rooms are a little on the small side but pretty standard for Japan. Fridge and tea/coffee making facilities are available.
We had one night here, it was an executive room, which was 18sq metres, smallish but fine for what we needed. This is a new hotel, very clean and the staff were exceptional, very helpful and friendly. The hotel is very easy to find, come out of Nagoya train station and turn right, about 5 minutes walk.
