Nestled in a prime spot, the Movenpick Resort & Residences Aqaba is celebrated for its proximity to the local beaches, markets, and attractions. While the hotel's cleanliness and amenities—including multiple pools and a private beach—consistently receive high marks from guests, opinions on value and rooms are divided; the quality of food and vistas are applauded, yet there are mentions of additional costs and dated furnishings.
The service and atmosphere generally garner positive remarks, but some visitors have faced issues with noisy music and service inconsistencies.

The best way to describe this hotel is: “Old is gold”
I have been here since I was a kid, now my new baby started here visits journey at the age of 6 months, and she absolutely loved it!
The hotel itself is designed in a beautiful islamic design, it’s very spacious, it has a lot of green areas, many pools to choose from and a magical and very clean beach to enjoy.
- Check in process; the smoothest. Mr Sharif and Miss Haneen welcomed us with a warm smile, explaining everything we needed, giving us an early check in to start enjoying our stay the most.
- Suite 634 was wonderful, lovely little kitchen, amazing view from the living room balcony and the bedroom window as well, the suite is well equipped with everything you can think of! A true luxurious experience. And the housekeeping is definitely the best you can have in any hotel, very cooperative, friendly and very fast to meet your needs.
- Pools area is big, you have many options to choose from, the coolest part is the nice lifeguards who took good care of our little baby. Towels service also efficient and convenient.
- the beach, after the major upgrade on the beach area, I can definitely say it’s the best in aqaba now. Clear water, comfortable seating for the family, many many umbrellas, beach ball, outdoor activities, animation team, great water sports facilities as well
- Finally I need to mention the main restaurant; I have always loved it here! From the decoration, the hospitality, the kindness of the staff, and the huge variety of all the delicious food specially the bakery. The outdoor dining area is a must, you can enjoy your morning coffee in peace.
Don’t forget to try Movenpick special ice cream when you visit. Highly recommended.

Stayed in the most basic room, but had everything you could wish for. Largish room with a city view. Very clean and comfortable. The bathroom toiletries were replenished daily as was the tea and coffee . Bathrobe and slippers supplied, and a comfortable bed. The breakfast buffet was plentiful and varied. The pools, grounds and private beach well looked after. Surprisingly the room service menu was not overpriced for a hotel of this standard and the food was very tasty. The lobby bar had a ‘happy hour’ between 7 and 8 in the evening which was handy as alcohol in general is rather expensive in Jordan. Thoroughly enjoyed our week relaxing here after our busy time exploring Jordan.

Nice size room and bathroom on the 6th floor. AC and fan a bit noisy for me. Comfy bedding. The checking in facility is a bit cramped up with 2 person at one larger desk and of course there is no sense of waiting and queuing. Breakfast buffet with good variety of food, clean dining room but no fresh orange juice. My scrambled eggs (in a pot, not freshly made) were lukewarm. Hotel team and employees were helpful. Wasn't able to use spa or pools or beach due to bad weather. Be aware that their wifi will allow you to send whatsapp message but NO calls and NO videos (due to government restrictions... but, some other hotels have a standard wifi with all capabilities). And you will not be informed of this before hand or at checking in. Taxi to airport is between 12 and 15 JOD, depending on your negotiating skills. If you fly Jordanian, the hotel as a bus. To confirm with them. The hotel location is convenient downtown so you can easily walk to cafés, restaurants, shops pharmacy etc. Bus station is 5 minutes walk.

The hotel is beautifully fitted out with mosaics, fine furnishings and lamps, polished floors and dark wood. It is a pleasure to be in the public spaces there. Our room with sea view (it's worth paying more for sea view) was excellent - no complaints at all. The breakfast buffet was the best I have ever had, and all the staff were friendly and attentive. I would especially like to praise Esraa Istanbouli, who sorted out a minor misunderstanding about the bill and gave us an upgrade. The hotel has its own well-kept beach and four pools, all in very good order, with the lovely gardens around them also well maintained. We had an all-round great time there, and were glad we opted for the Mövenpick in the city of Aqaba rather than down the coast in Tala Bay, where the facilities are good, but the location is simply less interesting. We hope we can come back before long. Thank you to all the staff.

We've just spent a week in the Movenpick - a lovely hotel with a fantastic private red sea beach, and three swimming pools centrally located in Aqaba. The hotel is spotlessly clean, very good COVID measures in place throughout the hotel. All staff wearing masks and hand sanitiser stations for guests to use everywhere. The Turkish restaurant was closed unfortunately although we did eat in the Red Sea Grill, the hotel's seafood restaurant overlooking the beach which was good.
Breakfast was good, despite the challenges of catering for smaller numbers of guests there was a good selection and most evenings we ventured into town to eat - loads of choice. Just leave the hotel by the back gate and within a 5 minutes walk you are in downtown Aqaba. The gym is also well equipped and very clean with sanitiser provided for guests to use on the machines.
One of the best things about this hotel is the staff - they are all great, very welcoming and willing to help. Sahee is the hotel's driver (Retaj Tours), located in the main lobby speaks great english, is a good driver and great value if you want to do day trips up to Petra etc.
We were sad to come home but hope to visit again in the future.

The trip began as we headed to the oasis in the desert, Aqaba, We have booked in Mövenpick since we have seen great reviews about the hotel, which werent fault. The hotel is a diamond located in the heart of Aqaba, it's following the safest requirements to have a Covid free stay. The rooms were daily sanitized and social distansing was applied in certian necessary areas. Also, rooms are beautifully designed with fully up to date modern furniture. The beach and pools were cleaned daily, they were really nice and enjoyable.I cant go on without mentioning the dinner&breakfast, they were one of the most exquisite restaurants i have ever stumbled upon in a hotel.
The staff was very friendly and welcoming, they provided us with all sorts of things that we needed. The customer service was amazing as well; since they kept checking on us and asking us about our experience.
To sum this beautiful experience up, i would love to thank the staff & management of Mövenpick for this beautiful & exquisite experience.
I would DEFINITELY recommend this hotel for everyone who is willing to have a exquisite experience in the beautiful city of Aqaba.
I cant wait for my next visit to the hotel next year.
With all love.

I would like to write a letter of gratitude. To everyone who works at movenpick Aqaba. Decent rooms, everything is clean and tidy. The territory of the hotel is also all tidy, palm trees are neatly trimmed, sunbeds have a distance from each other, this is vary nice .😃😃😃There is a restaurant on the beach where you can have a tasty snack during the day, or hiding from the sun, drink a soft drink or eat not probably delicious ice cream. And also have animation programs. You can dance, do exercises or water aerobics, yoga. Also, when we checked in at the reception, we were met guys in beautiful costumes of jasmine and Aladdin. Thay say for as about the program and gave me a positive mood. Everyone is very friendly, like one big friendly family. It was sad to leave. 💕💕💕💕

What an amazing pleace Movenpick Aqaba is🤩 I spend a week here with my husband and kids ( 5 and 9 years old). I would truly recommend the hotel and down here I'm gonna write the reasons! So first of all reception team are so friendly and helpful. Quite fast we get our nice room with a beautiful sea vie. The girl who is clean our room, did her job very well and over it she impressed our kids by towels toys which she was made. In the breakfast which has a full choice of any food you could imagine for breakfast, impossible- is possible! The pancakes and Arabic breakfast, whatever is super tasty, but you should try a Movenpick flavour yogurt, my kids and I we love it. Also we where surprised that in the such warm weather in the end of the March, they keep heating 2 pools, what is really nice, because meanwhile in the non heated pool, water is really fresh. The lifeguard all around the hotel so good, always on place, very helpful and they are keeping the pools and beach super clean, thanks to them. One more point wich impressed me that the entertainment team with the small amount of guests, doing a really great job. They invite you for activities and adopted it for you what ever it is, so guys are really friendly, polite, funny and professional. With them you can be sure that you will be happy 100%. Also a positive point for us was that to hotel, the piece of paradise, right in the city. What was a solution for us to make some shopping easy right before we leave. Highly recommend, thanks so much to all Movenpick Aqaba family, the best choice ever❤️❤️❤️

We enjoyed our 3 days here. A very nice 5 star hotel with huge grounds and great variety of pools and restaurants.
We took part in an aqua aerobics session while we were here and went snorkelling off the beach. ( snorkelling is apparently better further round the coast but we managed to see some interesting fish plus a few jellyfish).
A great array of restaurants. The hotel is also very convenient to the town where there are other restaurants if you are looking for a change.
The room was spacious and comfortable with tea and coffee making facilities, safe in the room, excellent Wi-Fi access. Bed is comfortable and the bathroom is nicely fitted out. Plenty of hot water for showering and easy to get a good temperature. Toiletries are lovely..based on dead sea salt ingredients which smell lovely and left me feeling very healthy and shiny!!
Breakfast on the lower ground floor is buffet including traditional Arabic dishes as well as western ones. All the usual juices, cereals, pastries toast jam etc. We tried a lot of the local dishes as this is a good way to try a little of something new.
We used the bars in the evening and enjoyed the happy hour on local wine and beer between 7pm and 8pm (40% discount). The fun bar also has entertainment in the evenings (belly dancers etc).

Hi there. I believe that it's possible to arrange a trip to Petra (Wadi Musa) from the Movenpick as they have a desk specifically for trips. But - it's around a 3 to 3.5 hour journey to get there, you then need to queue at the Petra Entrance for tickets (note, £55 each!!), you then have a 30 minute walk through the Siq to get to the Treasury, and that's just the start of Petra.
I'd advise against trying to 'do' Petra in a day from Aqaba. If it's just to 'tick' a box and say you've been then fair enough, but to see Petra properly and get anything like value for your expensive ticket, then you should consider stopping overnight at Wadi Musa, which is the feeder town for Petra. Some decent hotels there that are considerably cheaper than what you'll be paying at the fantastic Movenpick.
Petra is a large complex, so give yourself the time to enjoy it. Car hire is relatively cheap, as is fuel. Take the Desert Highway out of Aqaba and branch off left onto the King's Highway, that'll take you to Wadi Musa.
