Property's Favorite Review
We had a very comfortable two night stay at Musangano. We were a diverse group including two under 13's and two elderly folk. It suited all! The Lodge was clean and spacious with very comfortable beds. Everything was very well organised and thought through. The views are exquisite as are the walks and the pool area was perfect for all ages. I highly recommend the restaurant: a diverse menu, exquisitely cooked. Thank you so much.

Beautiful place, ideal for those who want to be away from the hustle and bustle of the city but remaining close enough and well connected to the outside world. The nature trails, breath taking views we could not get enough of that. We stayed in a spacious, clean 3 bed-lodge serviced daily, internet worked well throughout our stay. We required extra bed, The team was friendly and responded to our requests promptly. We were self catering and one of us had a birthday during our stay. We ordered a cake - which was delivered to our lodge on a complimentary basis. Thanks so much to the team - that was a delicious cake. We also liked private parking with ample space as well as the barbecue area.
The kitchen however needs modern equipment and utensils. The gas stove has seen the better part of its days. We would have loved having a microwave oven among other small items which were not there.

+1
Where to start with Musangano Lodge!? This absolute GEM of a place is not one to overlook. We were making a journey at a personally difficult time for us all, and found it to be close to our route so inquired and lucky for us there was a lodge free.
We were met by Assistant Manager Bright who was very kind and who showed us a couple of choices, which was incredibly kind as he realised on meeting us that one of our party had mobility issues, so he showed us a lodge with ramp and railing which we chose as it was better for us. This professionalism and attention to detail is wonderful.
We had an incredible lunch which was exquisite. The menu offers both modern European and traditional Zimbabwean dishes spoiling guests with such excellent and fresh ingredients we decided to add another night. Every meal we had we really looked forward to and enjoyed and the wine choices are superb. 👌🏼 The surrounding gardens with spectacular sculptures and succulents are beautiful and watching the birds while eating breakfast was a wonderful treat.
The hotel has lovely design touches including art and photography that really piqued our interest and didn’t make it feel anything but very carefully thought about at every point. The WiFi was very good and meant we felt connected when we wanted to be.
The lodge was wonderfully designed and so spacious! A lovely view and veranda, and a great BBQ area if you wanted to indulge in a BBQ.
The rooms are so thoughtfully designed, wonderful showers, fabulous beds and bedding, very well equipped kitchen, great dining area, comfortable lounge area with generous seating, and there is nothing that has not been thought about.
The cleaning team - Kudawash (sorry the spelling is probably incorrect!) we met and there were several - were fantastic, as were the chef and Lionel who checked what our orders would be in advance. We loved the attention to detail that each and every member paid to their part in this wonderful place.
The swimming pool was wonderful, very quiet and with sun loungers and chairs and table and shade for relaxing in as well as sunny areas for those sun worshippers amongst us!
While we were there we had an accident with our car - totally down to us - but we were immediately helped with absolutely no fuss by both Bright and Leonard (the General Manager). They simply could not have been kinder, nor more caring; nor more professional and reassuring. They truly took control and helped us with the issues we had and were the absolute example of compassion and professionalism. Thank you so so much to both Bright and Leonard who we can’t thank enough, and of course to the miracle worker Thomas the mechanic!
If you take the 1.5km trip off the road from Mutare to Harare to Musangano Lodge you will be so glad you visited this beautiful place with an ethos and values that are to be respected and admired and which are present in every action their wonderful team carry out every day whilst looking after their guests. We are so grateful to have visited - thank you all for your care, compassion and excellent hospitality ❤️👌🏼 we will be back

Wished we had stayed longer in this beautiful, well run lodge in a stunning location. We stayed in the spacious family lodge for on one night. Excellent, well-maintained facilities. Wifi in the lodge was a real bonus. Beautiful walks. Great information provided on activities to do in the area. Staff were extremely friendly and helpful. Food was good but very pricey. This is a perfect stopover location for travellers to Mozambique, Chimanimani, Chipinge or Chiredzi.

We stayed at Musangano Lodge 4 nights, together with a group of friends, for a total of 15 people. The Lodge is nestled in the beautiful nature of Zimbabwe, not far from Mutare. We stayed in the chalet for two, name Msasa. Very nice and comfortable, surrounded by a flourishing nature. During our stay we met Bright, a very kind, attentive and helpful person. We went on a 3-hour walk with him in the Lodge grounds. He guided our group along the trail, up to a mountain with a breath-taking view on the surrounding eastern highlands. I enthusiastically recommend it because of the high professionalism of everyone we met at Musangano Lodge. We had tasty dishes, accurately prepared and served. At least once in a lifetime everyone should go to Zimbabwe and enjoy a very pleasant stay at Musangano Lodge.

The Musangano Lodge is conveniently situated 25km from Mutare and is offering a variety of accommodation and is home to our mineral exploration team for the past 3 months. We find our rooms clean and well kept, spacious comfortable, well equipped, and tastefully furnished. The Lodge’s natural surroundings and well-planned facilities, make our stay most enjoyable. We are revitalized after a good nights’ rest and their hearty breakfasts are the perfect way to start each day.
Returning after a day out in the field, is an absolute pleasure as we are met by warm and friendly staff who go out of their way to keep us happy. A lot of care goes into freshly prepared wholesome evening meals. The exquisite taste suggests that only fresh homegrown or locally sourced produce are used in the creation of these wonderful dishes.
The Lodge has the perfect functional braai Lapa where we are treated to a wonderful braai on weekends. A very practical conference facility is also available near the braai Lapa.
The management and staff of Musangano Lodge must be commended for their warm hospitality, friendliness, and exceptional service. They truly go above and beyond their call of duty to ensure that one’s stay, will be a memorable one.
The Musangano lodge is highly recommended to all passers-by and long stayers.
Study the Musangano Lodge website and you will be surprised what they offer here.

I last stayed at Musangano two years ago and can confirm that it has got even better. The self-catering lodges are absolutely beautiful with stunning views and excellent facilities. The staff are extremely friendly, experienced and accommodating. The grounds and pool area are perfect for a family holiday and the restaurant serves truly delicious meals. We stayed for two nights and managed to fit in two of the well signposted hikes around the area. I highly recommend this as an addition to your stay to experience the beautiful woodland and granite outcrops with incredible views. Thanks Musangano team, for another great and restful experience!

The tourism hotspots in Manicaland are Nyanga and Vumba and Musangano is in neither of the two towns. That it stands as one of the top destinations shows just what a gem it is. The place is well maintained and surrounded by pristine forest. So thick are the bushes that each chalet feels like its faraway from everything. its like having civilisation in the middle of a wilderness. The place also has well paved footpaths that meander through the wooded hills on the property. Its a dream destination for jogging .
We particularly enjoyed the rooms with their fireplaces. As we stayed there on a particularly freezing and misty weekend this was truly welcome. We also have nothing but praises for the staff who were friendly and went out of their way to make our stay comfortable. If you are tired and want a break in a quiet, peaceful and secluded paradise highly recommend Musangano.

Our time at Musangano was just what we needed - and more. The friendly staff, the beautiful and well-maintained facilities, all clean and inviting. Our toddlers thoroughly enjoyed their stay... Their highlights were the play area, the Christmas tree, and the pool. Aunt Sofia made quite the impression too. We are definitely headed back to Mukwa!!
