Interesting though rather strange experience. Not a lot has changed inside which makes it a fascinating place to stay. But I saw very few guests and it was just me in the grand dining room! Breakfast was good but my dinner both nights was poor. Although the bed was comfortable, my room was very basic and in need of some TLC, especially the old bathroom with a shower attachment in the bath which only dribbled water. Location is fantastic in the heart of the city and the staff are lovely and friendly. So if you’re after an interesting experience and great location, this is a good option but don’t have high expectations on the standard as its best days are long gone.

It being such an iconic and historic building I was keen to visit. After a very hot and stressful day it was such a welcome relief to sit in the courtyard and enjoy a couple of g&ts from the beautiful old bar. The staff were very friendly and welcoming, and drinks were surprisingly cheap. Don’t be put off if it appears closed from the outside; ring the bell at the gate and it will open.

Never in my life have I experienced this level of racism and just blatant disregard of my rights as a paying customer. I was told to my face that I am no longer welcome here simply because I had a meeting with a work associate in their restaurant over tea ( which I paid for by the way.) So people looking to have meetings must book a board room. (Yes I was literally told this to my face.) Never mind the other party of 10 or so that had their "lunch meeting" in the same venue and at the same time as I did. This is unacceptable and honestly just rude. As a citizen of this country, I will never ever go back to this place again, let alone take a business associate. This is shameful, do better, please.

Stay at the club on frequent visits to the city of kings. The club is soaked in history, going back to colonial era of Cecil John Rhodes. It is kept immaculate by a very helpful and friendly staff. The rooms are comfy and spotless. The food is great, and all reasonably priced. highly recommended.

I fell in love with the vintage character, but it’s still a modern boutique hotel, with en-suite rooms, WiFi, and flat-screen TVs. The people are so charming and helpful - they know how to make your stay special! It’s right in downtown Bulawayo, which gives you the opportunity to see the city as well as taking whatever wildlife excursions you want. For anyone concerned about security, it is fully fenced and the front desk is staffed day and night. I found the biggest problem was leaving!
