This is a gentleman's club from the late 1800s that it's still a club but they have a hotel with about a dozen or so rooms that they let out to visitors. Well not a five star it is a great hotel and a little bit funky but well worth it. You can spend hours just wondering around taking a look at all the objects that has been collected throughout its hundred plus year history. There is also a three table snooker room and a beautiful bar that will make you feel like you're an old Africa at the end of the 19th century. The restaurant menu is minimal but tasty and you can eat at one of the tables and the center open atrium.

This is a historical gem untouched by the ravages of tough economic and political circumstances. The management is lovely and despite the challenges they have managed to keep the club going. Well done !

Revisited this iconic structure and club. Both my Father and Grandfather where members. Our visit felt like having dinner in a museum. All items are homemade and staff where welcoming and helpful. Thanks

My second stay this year. Best place to stay in Bulawayo especially if you like places with a lot of character/history and not these ugly sterile shiny tiled overpriced big hotels.... Credit especially to the staff who are so pleasant and professional, and who keep the place so clean and smart, no doubt with very limited resources. Our dinner was delicious....those who ordered the oxtail were in raptures and she who had the peri peri chicken and chips said it was excellent too.

Where ever you go in the world you will never find such an elegant experience for such a bargain price. We had Oxtail for dinner and it was superb. A couple of things need som patience like drawing a bath but the overall grandeur and history of everything around you will more than compensate. The staff are so helpful and welcoming, you feel so comfortable.

Enjoyed the snooker room. Food was ok (kitchen can be slow I guess).. Service very pleasant. There wasn't too much hot water. But I highly recommend this place. Value for money!!! My group enjoyed every minute there.

Interesting though rather strange experience. Not a lot has changed inside which makes it a fascinating place to stay. But I saw very few guests and it was just me in the grand dining room! Breakfast was good but my dinner both nights was poor. Although the bed was comfortable, my room was very basic and in need of some TLC, especially the old bathroom with a shower attachment in the bath which only dribbled water. Location is fantastic in the heart of the city and the staff are lovely and friendly. So if you’re after an interesting experience and great location, this is a good option but don’t have high expectations on the standard as its best days are long gone.

It being such an iconic and historic building I was keen to visit. After a very hot and stressful day it was such a welcome relief to sit in the courtyard and enjoy a couple of g&ts from the beautiful old bar. The staff were very friendly and welcoming, and drinks were surprisingly cheap. Don’t be put off if it appears closed from the outside; ring the bell at the gate and it will open.

Never in my life have I experienced this level of racism and just blatant disregard of my rights as a paying customer. I was told to my face that I am no longer welcome here simply because I had a meeting with a work associate in their restaurant over tea ( which I paid for by the way.) So people looking to have meetings must book a board room. (Yes I was literally told this to my face.) Never mind the other party of 10 or so that had their "lunch meeting" in the same venue and at the same time as I did. This is unacceptable and honestly just rude. As a citizen of this country, I will never ever go back to this place again, let alone take a business associate. This is shameful, do better, please.
