I would highly recommend this lodge. We stayed here at the end of a safari holiday in Botswana and it was a perfect place to relax. Lovely cottage rooms, fantastic friendly and capable staff set in fabulous gardens at the side of the river. Kelly runs the lodge with quiet and friendly efficiency. Loved it!!

If you can make it to Livingstone in Zambia you should stay here. We stayed here for 3 nights at the end of a 20 day self drive safari mainly through Namibia. We had a package that included all the Waterberry activities courtesy of Audley Travel and this was a wind down after all our driving. We were pampered and dined, went of river cruises, saw Victoria Falls from Zimbadwe (guided smoothly through the border bureaucracy of Zambia and Zimbadwe by Mr K), viewed the birds and game on the river and banks. Watch the hippos, they can feed on the lawn at night and then need shooing back to the river with a high power flashlight to let you off to bed. Dirty clothes came back from laundry immaculate (far better than at home). The fishing for tiger fish (with great support from Crispin the guide) was exciting and challenging. I had coffee delivered to our door at 5.30 before going fishing at 6.00 in the morning and came back to a full English breakfast. What a start to the day. I must mention Daisy who looked after our meals and organised the hippo chasing, morning coffee and everything else (but all staff were great). A really great place to stay.

We spent two nights here. Our room was spacious, stylishly furnished with plenty of hot water. The lodge is set in beautiful gardens overlooking the Zambezi River. Food is excellent. The staff are lovely, engaging and very helpful. The lodge offers a good programme of activities, which were included in our tariff. We enjoyed our trip to the Zimbabwean side of Victoria Falls (45 minute drive), our sundowner river cruise and our fishing trip. This is an altogether quieter and better choice than staying on the more commercialised Zimbabwean side of the Falls.

Stayed here for 2 nights as we wanted to see Victoria Falls, excellent lodges, excellent food and drinks. The hippos are in the river opposite the lodge and were very vocal πŸ˜€. 2 activities are included per day but we decided to only do the one, the sunset cruise, Webby was our driver/guide and we were the only 2 on the boat. WOW - he pointed out hippos, crocodiles, birds, giraffe, we saw elephants on the shore drinking then throwing sand over themselves, turning the air to look like it was misty πŸ˜€πŸ˜€ we watched the sun go down on the Zambezi with a drink in our hands, was fastastic.

We spent 3 nights here earlier this week and what an amazing time we had. Julius greeted us after we crossed over the border from kazungla & immediately offered us a cool drinking before whisking us off to Waterberry. Upon arrival, we were greeted with such a warm welcome by Hazel who had kindly booked us onto the evening sunset cruise. This was amazing ... floating down the Zambezi with Webby at the helm of the boat sharing his extensive knowledge of wildlife to us all. Our second day of activities was truly unbelievable...we decided on the island picnic and another sunset cruise. That day we were the only guests choosing to have a picnic ... what a magical experience this was, Webby was again our guide and he took us by boat downriver where we were greeted by Patrick. There were 2 chairs and a small table laid ready for our picnic .... which was delicious and an array of soft and alcoholic drinks were on hand. Our evening sunset cruise was incredible which was guided by Crispin. Crispin managed to spot the ears of a lion on the banks of the Zambezi...after waiting in the shallows for a few minutes it became apparent it was a pride..2 x males and 3 x females - a real pinch yourself moment, sitting on the boat, eating nibbles and sipping a G&T. Crispin, as was Webby, was a font of wildlife knowledge. We also went to Vic Falls, seemingly, according to locals the water level is at its lowest for 50 years and there was non on the Zambezi side at all. Mr K looked after us for this trip with such professionalism, humour and care. He explained everything calmly and advised us appropriately on β€œdo’s and dont’s. Mr K also took us to the traditional markets on our way back and accompanied us through one of the markets too. Our chalet was really homely and the food was delicious. The staff were friendly and attentive without being intrusive...nothing was too much trouble. Eating by candlelight with the hippos as background music is a memory we will treasure forever. Thank you to Waterberry for making our stay special beyond words.
