We booked online, sight unseen and it was just like the photos. Clean, tidy, spacious, great value for money and lovely staff. We were greeted with a cuppa tea and fruit and a friendly chat. 20 mins walk to old town or 30VND in a taxi and biking distance to the beach so a great location. We came home after 10 a few times and someone was always happy to let us in. Limited menu but great for a drink, snack or breakfast. Pay at check out. Good laundry service even with rainy weather. Free use of bikes and they were in great condition. Our family loved staying here. Thank you everyone for looking after us.

We got a warm welcome at Joy‘s Homestay and it felt like a family visit. The accommodation is really nice and clean. The family who runs it was really helpful with any issue we had. We even got invited to join family dinner. I strongly recommend this Homestay!

My partner and I loved our time at Joy Homestay. We spent 5 nights and felt very welcome. Upon check-in we were given tea and fresh fruit which was a very lovely treat. We were also given a lot of information on where to go in town and how to get there. Bicycle rental was great as well. Rooms were big and clean! The beds were super comfortable as well. One night we sat downstairs with Son and his gorgeous daughter and had a lovely time getting to know each other - was one of our favourite nights in Hoi An! We really enjoyed our time at Joy Homestay and highly recommend to anyone :)

I really enjoyed staying at Joy Homestay! I was looking for location and inexpensive, and I definitely found it here. I had a motorbike and Joy Homestay was in the perfect location, almost directly in the middle of the beach and the Old Town. It was very easy to get around since they weren't too far from everything! The first night they didn't have the room I requested so they gave me a bigger one. It was extremely nice! I decided to stay 2 more nights and I moved to a smaller room and it was still perfect for me. Only downfall was that you had to pay for breakfast. Otherwise, the bed was comfortable, the shower was warm, and the air con worked well. The staff was pretty friendly, but didn't go out of their way to socialize with you. They had bicycles available if needed. They had a parking spot for my motorbike which was nice. You can pay for breakfast and it is pretty yummy. I recommend staying here.

Stumbled across this place as we were riding around Hoi An. Checked online and we thought why not. The homestay is located 2 min away from a local fresh fruit and vegetable market. 3min from a bridge and roughly 10min from the old City. We arrived and we were greeted by a lovely women at the front desk. Check in was quick and easy. Showed us our room and asked if we needed any tips about Hoi An. Great customer service there.. The extra large double bed is great! Could fit an entire family on it. Bathroom is clean and modern. Unfortunately the mini fridge does not work. Everything inside is almost cold.. but not quiet. We decided to go out for dinner in the old city. We arrived back at the homestay at around 9:30/10pm. The gate was locked. We rang and the owner came out and opened for my girlfriend. She went in and I jump back on my bike and went for abit of a solo ride around the city. I arrived back at around 11:30pm to find the gate locked again. I had to ring the bell maybe 4 or 5 times before the owner came out and rudely asked if he could help me. I replied saying that I am a guest and his comment was "ow really". I found it abit sarcastic and rude. Not ow I'm sorry or sorry to keep you waiting outside. After all I am a paying guest. I would expect the owner of the establishment to be abit more friendly. The website states that there is a 24 hour reception desk but at 10pm everything was closed.. don't state services if that isn't the case. For this reason I will be giving it 4 stars. I would recommend this place to anyone looking for a cheap night near the old city. Just don't go out after 10pm. You will have problems getting back in.
