The first annoying thing we experienced was that no one met us at Da Nang airport and we had to make our own way to Villa Hoa Su in Hoi An. We had arranged months before our trip to be collected by the owners/managers but no one met us. We had great difficulty finding the Villas as the taxi driver spoke no English and kept stopping people on the road to Hoi An asking where the address was. When we arrived we were very disappointed. The Villas are very "tired" and in need of an update. We stayed one night only as we could not access the pool due to the lack of steps and as it was so hot we could not use the pool. The manager did offer to buy a ladder for us but we moved elsewhere. The room was very hot and did not cool down for hours at night time. The gardens are nice and well kept but there were a lot of mosquitos. We did enjoy the breakfast but there was only a small selection and no tea and coffee making in the rooms. The outside bathroom was quite nice but very run down and in need of a big paint. We loved Hoi An but would stay elsewhere next time. This is a back packer type place not a 5 star hotel.

Hard to describe what’s its like you have to come here, if your looking for 5 star don’t bother. It’s small and beautiful and personal and quiet with a market just down the rd and I will never stay anywhere else in Hoi An . Plus the host who looks after you I’d amazing

Stay there 4 nights. They first put us in a creepy room really dirty ... we have to argue with the staff to change room ... the new room was better but yet not clean at all .. explanation : no one really cleans the rooms... some lights do not work there was not enough hot water to fill the baththub and we have to ask to repair the baththub because it was also broken ... It was said that free bicycles were available but there is not enough for all ( only 6 rooms so they need 12 bicycles ..) . And they were very old and crappy too... the only positive point was the lady receptionist who was nice and the pancake at breakfast. Do not go there there are plenty of way better options in Hoi An It seems the place is really old and no one takes care of it. Too bad as the surrounding is really nice

We stayed here for two nights. It's in a good quiet location, within cycling distance of town (and can use free bikes). We were the only guests staying at the time, so it was incredibly peaceful. The pool area is amazing. The rooms are missing a few necessities, such as tea and coffee facilities and kettle, but aside from that the room was spacious.

He came, he saw, he stayed and this is how it went down.... After a week of chaos and fun in Saigon, um - Ho Chi Min City, it was a great relief to take some well earned time out and slow the pace down a little in historic Hoi An, which is a 45 minute cab ride from Da Nang Airport. From there it was off to the secluded countryside of Cam Thanh where a wonderful little 5 room retreat that goes by the name of Villa Hoa Su - Frangipani Village Resort is located. While Villa Hoa Su is just a short trip away from Hoi An as well as Cua Dai Beach, getting there is part of the fun, with the need to navigate a host of dirt tracks and lush farming land that trails the Co Co river. This is where you will be guaranteed to encounter all sorts of wild life including several large water buffalo before you finally make it to the resort. Once you get there you will be struck by how tranquil and beautiful the grounds are, with the main feature being an over water pagoda that is surrounded by the main pool and a lily pond, full of catfish and giant koi. Of course it is called Frangipani for a reason, they are scattered everywhere throughout the property adding to the sense of peacefulness that this little resort offers over almost anywhere else in Hoi An. The staff are exceptionally friendly and really try to be as helpful as they can but it's here that the 3 stars start to become apparent. Essentially, this is not a well oiled machine with slick service staff, fully trained to luxury hotel standards, but more like a quaint and humble family run home-stay. It's best think of it as a deluxe B&B, which is actually fine as long as that is what you're expecting. What this means is that you'll probably find yourself being a little more self directed during your stay and taking care of things as you need as opposed to having everything done for you at you beck and call like you would at a 5 star destination. The resort offers free bikes to ride into Hoi An which is great, you could also hire a scooter from the town and ride it back and keep it at the resort, either way this offers some great little journey's to and fro, which are definitely best undertaken in daylight hours as it gets very dark at night trying to navigate the little lane ways. There's no doubt that this charming and intimate destination will offer you a memorable stay and you'll make the most of it you're able to look past some of niggling flaws in attention to detail and aren't expecting high end service. What will win you over is the calming and secluded nature of the captivating surrounds that transport you to place of inner peace and harmony when compared to the hustle and bustle of the city and for this reason Villa Hoa Su is must vist when in Hoi An. You can enjoy the whole review at akala.ae Thanks!
