After days on the Pamir Highway we managed to find our way to Samarkand for a stay and checked into the City Hotel. The lobby was spacious and very clean with nice marble floors. The staff was friendly and very accommodating. Our room was for...More
I was in Uzbekistan on business, and I took the weekend to see Bukhara and Samarkand. I found City Hotel via TripAdvisor and we just booked it. We arrived really late from Bukhara but the rooms were ready and waiting.

Hotel is clean, water runs well. It had the appearance of being very new, so i'm surprised at the existence of all the older reviews. Food is prepared far from the restaurant, served in a basement room, and it is a bit involved for them...More

Nice clean hotel located within walking distance to Samarkand's historical places and market. Quiet area. Clean, spacious, modern rooms. Modern lobby, could do without the rather loud TV. Free wifi connection, but only worked at the lobby. Average breakfast.

I do not think you can enter the lobby without help, because there are stairs in front of the hotel. Inside the breakfast room is downstairs. I do not remember an elevator. So it might be difficult for you. If you book a room first floor and if they offer roomservice perhaps it is possible to stay there. An other problem might be the bathroom Well I did not think about it at that place - I do not use a wheelchair, but ask the Management if the door is wide enough to enter the bathroom with a wheelchair.
