We enjoyed our 2 nights at El Galope. Miguel and Monica were great hosts and our fellow guests were very interesting. It was a welcome change of pace from Buenos Aires. The night sky was incredible, with more stars visible than we can remember ever seeing.

Loved this place. Stayed 2 nights, just enough time to relax and unwind after some frenetic travelling. The owners are really nice and friendly. The rooms are sparkling clean and comfortable. The kitchen/lounge is great to relax in, as are the hammocks dotted around the grounds. Horse riding lessons are available every day and you can take a walk to...

Stayed here my first 3 nights in Uruguay. Beautiful place..perfect if, like me, you are needing to escape BA. Getting there from Colonia del Sacramento is easy and Monica and Miguel make you feel at home straight away.Try the home cooking and local wine!

We stayed for two nights and really enjoyed ourselves. Lots of relaxing, walking and horse riding done. The food is excellent home cooking and is fresh and healthy. We also got directions from Miguel to the best Chivito in Uruguay (seriously).

I adored my short but sweet stay at El Galope last week. A friend and I needed some time away from the bustle of neighboring cities Montevideo and Buenos Aires, and El Galope provided just the respite we needed! My only regrets are that I didn't have longer to stay (was just there one night), and I didn't have the...

I have been travelling with my partner for 7 months and this was one of my highlights for many reasons. We originally booked for 2 nights but as soon as we arrived we added an extra night as I loved the feel of the place. You are greeted by Miguel, Monica and Silvia not to mention the 3 dogs, 3...

I had a FANTASTIC time. The staff were lovely and you felt more like a family guest then a paying client. It is very relaxing out in the country so plan to read, laze about and read a book. It was a great value way to tick the horse riding box and learn to ride like a gaucho (including bareback)....

If you are backpackers like us, the stay at the farm really will feel like a holiday from your trip. We stayed for 2 nights and it was so relaxing to hang out in the beautiful countryside away from the bustle of the cities. Horse riding was great and Miguel was a brilliant instructor!!! Having home-made food every evening was...

El Galope may have been the highlight of my Uruguay trip (2 weeks). The area is beautiful, the farm (estancia) relaxing and charming, the people that work there so helpful and lovely, and the people you meet there are bound to stay friends. Exploring the area via the little map provided by Monica is a great way to spend a...

We stayed 3 nights at the hostel and enjoyed the peaceful location and hospitality of Monica and Miguel. The horse riding lesson is comprehensive and all the animals are great. Dinner provides a good opportunity to catch up with the other guests and the local wine is well worth a try. You will feel at home from the day you...
